Big Finish – Gallifrey: Time War 4
Available to order www.bigfinish.com
It is the end but the moment has been prepared for. The Gallifrey: Time War saga draws to a deadly conclusion in a brand-new box set of full-cast audio adventures, coming soon. The Time Lords and the Daleks have opposed one another across millennia.
But now, as their conflict tips into an all-out Time War, nowhere across the universe of space time is safe. Many familiar names will be returning for this final reckoning, due for release in February 2021, including Louise Jameson (Leela), Pippa Bennett-Warner (Livia), Seán Carlsen (Narvin), Miles Richardson (Braxiatel), Samuel Clemens (Mantus) and Nicholas Briggs as the Daleks. Plus, actor Richard Armitage joins the worlds of Doctor Who for the first time as he assumes the role of the legendary Rassilon, Lord President of the Time Lords, in his latest incarnation.
Gallifrey: TimeWar 4 is now available to pre-order at the special price of £22.99 as a collector’s edition five-disc CD box set or £19.99 as a download, exclusively from www.bigfinish.com
Romana is lost to the Time War though Leela and Narvin still fight to survive.A resistance, caught between Rassilon’s fury and the Dalek Emperor’s mania, have a desperate plan to stop the conflict.Everything ends. And for some on Gallifrey, the Time War will soon be over.
This final chapter of Gallifrey: Time War features four climactic stories:
- Deception by Lisa McMullin
- Dissolution by Lou Morgan
- Beyond by David Llewellyn
- Homecoming by Matt Fitton
Producer / Director Scott Handcock said: “It’s been a pleasure to induct Richard Armitage into the Doctor Whouniverse! He’s such a brilliant actor. I loved him in Hannibal and most recently The Stranger, plus of course Big Finish’s own adaptation of The Martian Invasion of Earth, so he’d been on my wish list for a while. I’d just been waiting for the right role to come along. And he’s fantastic as Rassilon: powerful, headstrong and overflowing with self-conviction. ”
Actor Richard Armitage said: “Rassilonis one of those defining spines of this lore. I’ve watched enough sci-fi to know that there has to be an omnipotent being that has a self-aggrandising mental state which puts him above everybody else, like a malevolent, maniacal dictator. “I grew up with Doctor Who. The Daleks and the Cybermen were definitely my ‘hiding behind the sofa’ baddies. But I loved being frightened. Tom Baker was my Doctor Who. He had that voice. In a way, what I have tried to do with Rassilon is a little bit Tom Baker-esque.”

November 20th, 2020 - 6:57pmI don’t usually buy Big Finish CDs, so Im not familiar with the creatures on the cover. But they look great, really creepy. The design looks like something from horror though rather than sci_fi
(Not complaining, love horror films as much as sci_fi).

June 27th, 2020 - 5:56pmIs this a new time war series? Does it connect to the gallifrey series (was a thing) or does it stand alone
Doctor Stu
June 27th, 2020 - 6:50pmThat message was a mess, here’s what I was trying to say
This is part 4 of the new time war series isn’t it? And I was wondering if I need to have listened to the Gallifrey series to know what’s going on (I might be wrong thinking there’s a Gallifrey series but there’s definitely a long running series that’s similar) do they connect?

June 28th, 2020 - 1:07amThis is part 4 of the Gallifrey Time War series so it does connect to the previous 3 volumes

June 28th, 2020 - 12:45pmI’m pretty sure he is talking about the other 8 series…
Whofan44
June 28th, 2020 - 2:32pmWell is specifically mentioned if he needed to listen to the Gallifrey Time War series. It read to me like he did not know this was vol 4 of the Gallifrey Time War series.

November 20th, 2020 - 10:13amI didn’t actually specifically ask if I needed to listen to the ‘gallifrey time war series’ those four words in that order appear nowhere in my comment. I’m aware that if I’m listening to a fourth volume of a series, I need to listen to the other three. I was asking about if I need to have listened to the original Gallifrey series

November 20th, 2020 - 12:48pmI apologies I misread as I never saw your 2nd message only the first one where you asked if this was a new Time War series.
You don’t need to have listened to the Gallifrey series 1-8 but it would help.
Doctor Stu
November 21st, 2020 - 8:46pmI’ll have to catch up on all of them eventually when I’ve got enough money XD. I wish I could be a millionaire, add every audio they’ve ever made to my basket and just start from scratch
