No comments on this seems very strange. Has anyone ordered this?

I’ve bought a few items directly from Big Chief but never got this heads up.

I first I saw of this, was late on Friday evening.

      I ordered it immediately.

I’m sure it’s going to look a lot better than these test shots and if not, I’m glad to at least have the Season/Series 18 costume.

If I don’t like the new head sculpt, I’ll just use the Tom head from the last release.

I love how they’ve included both the Bucanneer Boots & Brogues Shoes with Socks.

This Christmas pre-order release time is a bit off, I would have appreciated a bit more lead time.

…, and for this same reason, I’m also anxious with the link to the future releases – I love these figures but 2 pre-order release dates in 2020?

      I Better get saving!

His hair/head looks like it has been virtually stretched, it looks awful!

The original figure’s hair was the right shape so why does this look so odd?

The head and hair that has been on this figure for a lot of the conventions and photos was the 4th Doctor head from the first release of the 4th Doctor. I think everyone is used to that one…. but I’m sure by the time these figures go into production his head and hair will be practically perfect! The figure they’re showing now is just a prototype. Big Chief are great at listening to criticism and what the Collectors want and taking what’s said into consideration and making the appropriate changes to what the people want.

I think that people might want them to change it to a likeness of Tom Baker.

Odd this doesn’t look a lot like the prototype I saw a couple of weeks ago at the BC booth at the NEC which was superior. His hair here looks like he’s hanging upside down.

Ah, that’s why it looked better, they fixed the 5 o’clock shadow.

Must admit not overly keen on paying for another one up front though not while Im waiting for Pertwee. I imagine though that people have even more on order than me.

Far superior to the previous Tom figure…be nice if you could get the first season outfit and accessories from that previous one with this.

I heard at one time they were going to be making Daleks. That was like 3 or 4 years ago though. Or your looking for a decent looking Dalek to put with your Bog Chief figures I find that the Dalek Bluetooth speakers seem to be about the right size and look great when posed together. I have 4 of them and it really adds to the display!

Booboo posted this reference to Big Chief getting their licence renewed. Take a look at the last three entries on their list of planned figures. Though you’ll have to wait a while.

Looks lovely! But has anyone heard about 13? It was due November and it stills says that on the website. But no sign or email about a delay?

Their October production update gave late January as the new provisional release date. For some reason, the listing for the figure did not get updated at the same time.

I read the same thing, the Pertwee figure has pushed the Jodie one behind schedule.
I waited two years for Clara, yep two whole years after paying full price on launch day! Hopefully Jodie won’t take as long.

  • Don’t vote Saxon (He’s a bad man) :)

It’s okay, I’m not keen on his later costume and the scarf looks a bit thin.
Still waiting for Jodie to come in stock as it’s been delayed to January apparently but I’ve got Clara before and she’s great. Shame the prices have jumped up a lot as a full Doctor set is almost impossible without choosing these over having money to stay alive for a bit longer to enjoy them.

I think it’d be cool if they did an alternate Meglos head and hands.

A brilliant idea! His aged ‘da Vinci’ head from Leisure Hive would also be a superb addition.

I’m sure it could. So far, all of the Doctors heads for onto all the bodies. The neck peg is basically the same size in all the figures. I have all the Doctors and sometimes it fun to switch heads every once in awhile.

Would love to get more of these but way out of my budget. Really wanted the Jodie one but just too expensive. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying they should be cheaper I fully understand the pricing it’s just unfortunate that I don’t have the money for them. This one decent to me. And yes they do often look better than the photographs suggest. The Jodie one I thought doesn’t look much like her with the serious expression but I think the smiling head is spot on. It will be the same here if the other head sculpt is a smiling version.

What if it comes with Meglos & old heads that would be good and make sense why it’s more expensive

The final figure often looks a lot better. The Paul McGann packaging photo figure looks awful but the production figure looks rather good. I saw a computer generated image (pre paint) of a smiley portrait for this figure of Tom and it looked great.

I agree that these photos aren’t selling it for me. Big Chief can be very hit and miss.
