Doctor Who Regenerations box set

The Doctor Who Regeneration set is a beautifully packaged, limited edition coffee table book-styled collectors’ album including six DVDs and over 10 hours of Doctor Who footage.

The collection features each Doctor’s iconic regeneration episode; from the first Doctor played by William Hartnell, exhausted after battling the Cybermen to Jon Pertwee’s Third Doctor suffering from radiation that had been unleashed by the Great One (a giant spider); and from the spectacular transformation of the Ninth Doctor to David Tennant’s emotional farewell as the Tenth.

The set is adorned with superb photography from across the era and features detailed and informative accounts of each regeneration.

And if that wasn’t enough, new to DVD is The Tenth Planet featuring the Doctor’s first regeneration – beautifully restored with the missing fourth episode now brought to life with stunning animation.

bbc-shop-dvd-banner2Utilising the original soundtrack, off-screen photographs and a short surviving sequence of the Doctor’s regeneration the episode has been now reconstructed in animated form, incorporating the restored version of the surviving sequence.

A full list of stories included on the DVD are:

· The Tenth Planet
· The War Games
· Planet of the Spiders
· Logopolis
· The Caves of Androzani
· Time and the Rani
· Doctor Who: The Movie
· Bad Wolf & The Parting of the Ways
· The End of Time

But there are 106 episodes needing of animation of which (by the end of this year) only 9 would have been released…

I’m tempted to get this, but I don’t feel like paying full price. Does anybody know when they’re likely to do the discount code thing again?

And because you spend over £25 on classic dr who DVDs you get a bit off too. I payed around £38 with just this offer

you will pay £34 for it because you will get 20% off using the code and the over £25 10% off thing.

The promo code works on checkout makes it 38 but is there another code for spending over 25 on classic who as no other discounts come off?

How do you get the extra discount for spending over £25?

    • drjakeyoung

      May 21st, 2013 - 2:48pm

it automatically deducts it at the checkout point.

    • Douglas Fir

      May 21st, 2013 - 4:30pm

Hmmm, just ordered The Aztecs and The Visitation Special Editions and after the 10% off it didn’t take any additional discount off despite it being over £25?

    • drjakeyoung

      May 21st, 2013 - 4:32pm

because they are 2 separate items (for some reason) it needs to be one item over £25 that will take discount off.

    • Douglas Fir

      May 21st, 2013 - 4:38pm

Is there a link to details of this deal anywhere on their website? Does it state it has to be one item – because there aren’t many Classic Who DVDs that are over £25, so seems a strange deal?

    • drjakeyoung

      May 21st, 2013 - 4:53pm

go onto bbc shop and click pre order on the regeneration box. You don’t have to buy it but just go to check out and you will see the deal (with a link explaining it)

I go to the checkout screen with the Regenerations set in my basket – no discount mentioned?

    • drjakeyoung

      May 21st, 2013 - 5:10pm

just checked and it’s not working. It might be because you get a free poster they have stopped the deal? But you can still use the discount code which takes it down to £38. (i got mine for £34 and i still get the free poster lol)

I ordered this last week from the BBC Shop. Annoyingly, a 10% discount code was released the following day.

Would rather much prefer a poster of the cover art as opposed to a drawing of the TARDIS

i am afraid that the box set full stop is exclusive to the UK, so the only way you can get it is if you but it separately or import the poster and set if it come up on eBay?

    • The Greater Intelligence

      May 20th, 2013 - 9:08pm

Are you talking about the poster or the product?

    • drjakeyoung

      May 20th, 2013 - 9:09pm

both! Although you could buy the poster separately if you want?

    • The Greater Intelligence
