Exactly, the thinking was the 45th anniversary of “The Hand of Fear” (hence the costumed background) and also the 15th anniversary of “School Reunion” (with the “My Sarah-Jane!”).

Is it jist me or is it a bit odd to have an “Anniversary Collection” of someones death?

its not, its the anniversary of the Characters last regular appearance in Doctor Who 45 years ago in the The Hand of Fear, That’s what the anniversary collection is 1st and last appearances in the show there is a whole range of it nothing to do with a persons death.
