Leela & Stor: Invasion Of Time – Pictures

Action Figure Set: Leela & Stor: Invasion Of Time

After a secret meeting in space with a group of mysterious aliens, the Fourth Doctor takes Leela to Gallifrey so he can claim the Presidency of the Time Lords. After his induction as Lord President, the Doctor inexplicably commands the force field around Gallifrey to be shut down. His alien coconspirators materialise revealing the Vardans, telepathic invaders that can travel on any wavelength.

The Doctor has been planning a double bluff, working alongside them until he can place a time loop around their home planet. But when he springs his trap the Vardans are banished, only to be immediately replaced by Sontarans! This fearsome clone race were also using the Vardans, but to conquer the Gallifrey. The invasion of the Time Lords has begun, led by Commander Stor. A fierce battle ensues across the Capitol and through the Doctor’s TARDIS. With casualties on both sides, Stor is the only surviving Sontaran left. The Doctor uses knowledge extracted from the Matrix by K-9 to construct a De-Mat gun, a very powerful weapon only to be used as a last resort. The gun is destroyed in an implosion with a Sontaran weapon… killing Stor. As they prepare to leave, Leela announces that she wishes to stay behind, and K-9 elects to remain with her.

      December 19th, 2011 - 9:12am

I myself have some catching up 2 do. No Classic Sontaran sets, although I was going to buy the Time Warrior set, I changed my’mind when I realised it was an extra £10 jsut for a plastic ball that you can’t even use for the Sontaran ! 😆

It was batmanmarch’s review that pointed this out to me ❗ , so I got the Pertwee Doctor on ebay. I now have three of them ! One from the Green Death set, which I bought, one from Death to the Daleks (off ebay, V good) and the newest one ! 😀

BooBoo, as a proffessional Whovian, what did you think of the story Two Doctors ?

The Sontarans didn’t really have (nor did they need to have) abig part in the story, jsut liek the Cybermen in Closing Time, these are stories more about the characters and the Doctor, right ? 😉

Well it was filmed in Spain, one of the Sontarans ended up with heat stroke.

But it was more about the two Doctors and the companions, at one point it was considered to be a way of bringing Frazer Hines back into the show full time, but Emmerdale extended his contract again against his wishes.

      December 13th, 2011 - 3:45pm

I never knew ?? Is that true ? Was it just the fans/viewers speculating or was it an actual idea of the producer and the writers.etc ? ❗

Here’s something I bet some people didn’t already know: Writer Robert Holmes wrote teh 2nd Doctor doing missions for the Timelords, thinking that it was he who did this, and not realising it was INFACT the Third Doctor not the Second Doctor ! That’s why there’s the inconsistency. 😆 😀

Afew years ago when I first watched this story, I had a very bad time of it. Didn’t follow the story or understand what was going on at all !!

The Tardis corridors that I didn’t even realsie were within the Tardis until I was told ! And who could blame the younger me, they were filmed at a Hospital. ❗

But re-watching the story at a later time, it is wonderful in it’s own way, once you understand and cope with the fantastical plot elements and all, its not entirely bad ! 😀

its an alright story, a bit boring and looks quite low budget the only realistic tardis set in the story apart from the control room is the swimming pool and all looks a bit naff but then again thats my opinion not everyones 🙂
