June 14th, 2015 - 4:03pmAs booboo says, it was a 4-issue test run in the NorthWest ITV area, to gauge likely interest with a view to a possible full UK launch in the next few months (I’d guess September time).
That said, I understand issue 4 came with a backing card that said issue no. 5 would be an 11th Doctor edition, focusing on Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, Town Called Mercy and The Power of Three (so, relatively late Matt Smith-era).

May 2nd, 2015 - 9:53pmMost people on this forum seem fairly aware of how much value for cash part-work collections provide, but in case any Whovians come to the Merchandise Guide unaware of this and/or uncertain of whether to invest in ‘The Complete History’, here are my thoughts on the matter:
Given that even the “exclusive” subscriber’s Big Finish dramas end up being made available to all users of the BF website eventually, I’d advise against anyone subscribing to this collection purely on the basis of the “exclusive audio adventure”.
At the same time, though, whilst the thought of shelling out hundreds of £s (as was the case with the ‘Marvel Graphic Novels Collection’ which I purchased in its entirety…until Hachette suddenly decided to expand it with around 40 new £10 hardback titles) on what effectively looks to be stylishly rehashed DWM content is more than enough to deter me from picking these up beyond the first few issues, if you’ve yet to follow a part-work collection and have the money at hand, then based on my past experience with Hachette, I’d at least concede that they’ll most likely do you proud.
To those *hardcore* fans who collect DWM and/or the Classic Series DVDs and who are on the fence about potentially shelling out £700+ for these titles, I’ll say only this – if you take a look through the preview material, it becomes clear that there’s nothing *particularly* inspired on offer here that you won’t find by consulting past DWM Special Editions, Classic Series DVDs or New Series DVD box-sets (at least those released before BBC Worldwide became a little more stingy with their VAM content, i.e. Series 1 – The Specials). Your best bet – in my humble view, anyway – would be to try out the surprisingly cheap Issue 1 (£3) and Issue 2 (£7) so as to check whether many surprises lie in store.
P.S. If all of this seems hugely obvious to you, then don’t mistake it as patronising – I’m just preaching to those who (like myself once upon a time) still find themselves on the fence regarding part-work collections and whether or not they’re truly solid value for money.

May 27th, 2015 - 10:10pmInteresting, what are your thoughts on the Dredd mega collection from Hatchette?

April 15th, 2015 - 10:46pmDWM £4.99
Figurines £15.98
Titan £3.99
History £18.98
So every 4 weeks I will have spent £43.94 on magazine/figurine/book collections. Every 12 months I will have spent £527.28….. I’m starting to think that there is too much at the moment.

April 15th, 2015 - 7:04pmLovely covers and I’m certain just as good inside. Just reading into subscribing. Looks like it could take up a lot of room I don’t have though 😕

April 15th, 2015 - 7:07pmGood point trenzalore but finding space for new items as never been easy…However I’m more concerned as to how well packed the items are going to be…. the eaglemoss magazines always seem crumpled when I get them delivered. TARDIS bookends sound tempting though …..
Doctor RevWho
April 16th, 2015 - 9:17amOn the website it says that the books are in hardback, so there’s really no chance of them getting crumpled.

May 30th, 2015 - 11:34amHmmm. I subscribe to their Judge Dredd collection. The quality really is excellent – both of the content and the binding/materials/spot-varnish effect on the covers etc.
However, hardback or not, they *do* sometimes send your issues out in over-large boxes without any further padding inside which has led to some subscribers receiving their copies with ‘bashed’ corners etc.

February 26th, 2017 - 8:59pmthey are good books though. trust me

April 15th, 2015 - 6:59pmBe interesting to see if any new photographic materials been found…..be rather good if each story had been covered ‘telesnap’ style…..
