Doctor Who: The Crawling Terror (12th Doctor novel)
Doctor Who: The Crawling Terror (12th Doctor novel) (Hardback)
“Well, I doubt you’ll ever see a bigger insect.”
Gabby Nichols is putting her son to bed when she hears her daughter cry out. ‘Mummy there’s a daddy longlegs in my room!’ Then the screaming starts… Kevin Alperton is on his way to school when he is attacked by a mosquito. A big one. Then things get dangerous.
But it isn’t the dead man cocooned inside a huge mass of web that worries the Doctor. It isn’t the swarming, mutated insects that make him nervous.
With the village cut off from the outside world, and the insects becoming more and more dangerous, the Doctor knows that unless he can decode the strange symbols engraved on an ancient stone circle, and unravel a mystery dating back to the Second World War, no one is safe.

July 15th, 2014 - 2:03pmNice to see some new shots of Capaldi in costume. The white shirt/cardie variant of the costume is definitely my favourite.
Mike Tucker’s written some good Who novels in the past so I’ll probably be picking this one up.

June 2nd, 2014 - 10:41pmFunny my first thought was ancient symbols, world war two mystery….its the Curse of Fenric…. but it seems to have borrowed quite a few old ‘Who’ ideas…
Have to be honest Ive looked at these ‘new adventure’ books at various stages since they first stared the TimeWyrm series and Ive not really liked any of the ones Ive read that much….

June 2nd, 2014 - 10:57pmMay I suggest a couple that I thought were exceptionally good?
My favourite, out of them all, is ‘Touched by an Angel’ by Jonathon Morris – I read it back in 2012, and it broke my heart. I won’t spoil anything for you, but it is easily one of the most like-the-show tie-in books there are.
Another great one is ‘Nuclear Time’ by Oli Smith – a timey-wimey extravaganza, in my opinion. Lot’s of bit’s where it things don’t get explained until much later in the books.
I don’t know if you’ll like them, but I’d suggest them to anyone!

July 15th, 2014 - 2:09pmTouched by an Angel is my favourite and is worth the read indeed! I quite liked “Night of the Humans”, that had a good atmospheric vibe! And I thought “Borrowed Time” was good too!
By the way, this cover looks fantastic!

the astronaut of death
June 2nd, 2014 - 6:53pmI am not really a fan of these books
but the 11th doctor novel ,nothing o clock , was good
Al
June 2nd, 2014 - 10:22pmKeep in mind Nothing O’Clock was a short story/novella. This is a full length book. It’s like trying to compare a two-episode Classic Era story with a 6-parter.
