Rubbertoe Replicas – Behind the Scenes – Doctor Who
A short journey from Doctor Who’s studios in Cardiff, is the town of Barry – home not only to Stacey from Gavin & Stacey, but also Rubbertoe Replicas, producers of collectible replica props from Doctor Who.
The Doctor Who team went to visit their workshop, and chatted to designer and craftsman Nick Robatto, who showed us a few tricks of the trade.

Rubbertoe Replicas
Rubbertoe Replicas is a unique company specialising in 100% authentic prop replicas and collectibles from the cult BBC show, Doctor Who.
All of their products are hand-made in Wales, by the original prop-makers who have worked (and still do work!) on Doctor Who. Nick Robatto, the founder of Rubbertoe Replicas, has been one of the principal prop-makers for Doctor Who since the programme’s re-launch in 2004. Nick set up his own business, Rubbertoe Props, in 2011.
Maintaining strong links with the BBC and Doctor Who, Nick continues to provide the show with many props; most recently he has built the new Tardis console. Penny Howarth, who is on board at Rubbertoe Replicas in-between filming Doctor Who, has also been one of the principle prop makers at Doctor Who for several years.
Various Rubbertoe items and collectables are also available to order from www.bbcshop.com or www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

Rubbert0e
And no, I’ve not spelt it wrong with the number 0 instead of the letter O, it’s how the user spelt it as written in the middle of this comment.
