Doctor Who 5.5″ 8th Doctor Action Figure

“I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren’t there.”

The Eighth Doctor was an effortlessly charming, romantic figure. He was unguarded about his background and equally candid about what the future held for people he came into contact with.

8th-doctor-3750

Includes..

  • Sonic Screwdriver Accessory
  • Karn Chalice Accessory (Cup O’ Karn)
  • Cass’s Bandolier Accessory (removable)

It seems ironic that so much about this open Doctor remains a closed book…His first adventure took place in San Francisco at the turn of the Millennium with Dr Grace Holloway and Chang Lee in an epic battle with the Master.

8th-doctor-box7501

Much later, after many adventures with many companions, the 8th Doctors fate is finally sealed during the Time War, as he attempts to rescue a pilot, Cass, whose ship was crashing into the planet Karn.

When Cass realized that the Doctor was a Time Lord and her enemy, she refused his help and allowed the ship crash.

Just to remind folks the 8th Doctor is due into TRU tomorrow. That is the company, then they will be allocated to the stores.
My local store in Manchester will not be stocking them but the store manager will pick them up from another store for me.

It seems most toys r us stores don’t have any 5 inch figures in stock at the moment, a bit of a shambles really.

They said that the other figures would be online on the 31st of October but they ended up in stores then. So who knows maybe the figure will turn up today.

The problem is, places like Lakeside (Essex) & Basildon never got the new 5 inch figures to begin with. (no 12th Doctor, Clara etc)

Booboo I had a chat to the store manager of the Manchester branch. His store will not be getting the 8th Doctor or any of the 5.5″ collectors series because his a smaller store compared to the likes of Stockport or Warrington. I did say they should change their website to say only available in certain stores.

    • booboo

      November 18th, 2015 - 4:55pm

i cant understand how why all stores would not stock exclusives, that excludes a very large “impulse buy” market, especially in a large city

Hi Boobo got this email from TRU on the 8th Doctor.
The 8th Doctor in Night of the Doctor Figure £14.99 stock code 196522 is booked to arrive into the company on the 18th November. At this stage we do not know which stores are getting them until our Inventory Control Department split the stock.

you never know something really scary might happen like toys r us being there with a stand showing off all their exclusives, they could go in with character and sell Missy as well

      wouldn’t that be something

    • booboo

      November 11th, 2015 - 3:30pm

Last Time FP (.com) had a big stand

      others there were

      Underground Toys
      Big Finish
      Scifi Collector
      Harrop
      Eaglemoss

    • Darren

      November 11th, 2015 - 4:15pm

That would be mega, I remember last time at the 50th in 2013 most of them were there but can’t remember Harrop being there but do remember mintedUK being there with the coins. Would be very surprised if FP.com aren’t there, can’t see FPI being there though same as last time, the others you say I think might be there as well as Hachette with the complete history book collection

I’m hoping that you can fit the one that came with the war Doctor on it!

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      November 11th, 2015 - 12:07pm

Out of pure interest – why? The head that came with the War Doctor is incredibly innacurate, and clearly based on Paul McGann’s head in the Dark Eyes photoshoot. This head, however, is extremely accurate to The Night of the Doctor, the hair is much longer, and not brushed back. Unless you intend to make a Dark Eyes 8th Doctor custom, the head that came with the War Doctor has, frankly, no use.

    • Phil

      November 11th, 2015 - 12:21pm

@ sam, I think he means the John hurt head.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      November 11th, 2015 - 12:56pm

Well, he said ‘the one that came with the War Doctor’. I suppose I could say putting the War Doctor’s head on this would be just as inaccurate – but hey, there isn’t a Young War Doctor Head so, gotta make do, eh?

    • Cyberman Bill

      November 11th, 2015 - 2:02pm

I think he meant the Mcgann head… I don’t know why you would want to switch the head to that one?? It is so inaccurate for The Night of the Doctor! Don’t do it! As for if u put on the war Doctors head, that would make him too old. Just don’t it ! This figure is perfect as is!

    • Wholords2

      November 11th, 2015 - 2:18pm

It may be inaccurate but it would be cool if you can swap it!

    • Merlin

      November 11th, 2015 - 3:12pm

I’d like to know too, it may be inaccurate, but the Dark Eyes head on any 8th Doctor makes more sense than one on a John Hurt body.

    • The Living Shadow

      November 11th, 2015 - 6:28pm

yeah, I do mean the Paul McGann one, I simply just prefer the Dark Eyes hair on McGann, plus I’d just want to see how it’d look; Maybe it’d look cool!
