November 5th, 2016 - 1:07pmWhilst this set has some really nice paint apps, and they do look great, quality control has been off on quite a few of these sets, i ordered mine online and the Pertwee and Baker had scratches on the face, I went to my local toys r us to exchange it but the one in the store had bad paint apps on the hair (skin colour painted on the hair) and more face scratches, I understand with the 11 doctors set it was sold so far and wide that you had a good few lapses in quality here and there, but with this set each one is part of a limited number, you’d think when they make it an exclusive, there would be a higher standard to be met, but as always sods law, the only upside is if you do order online and its not what you fancy, and you see one that’s better in a toys r us, you can swap it with the one you ordered, which is helpful on the stores part. In short, beware that not all of the sets have been thoroughly checked over.

November 5th, 2016 - 11:33amThe man at my local FPI said that they will definitely get it, it’s just a question of when. He implied that it was a problem of admin, suggesting that they had been given a date but that he couldn’t tell me because it was likely to change.

I went in and they had none. After asking and 20 minutes of waiting, lorry unpacked and a brand new box of four came out 49/150. Numbers between 3042 and 3055, not sequential.
No box was mint, but each a couple of minor abrasions. Figures were fine except for a couple of eyes.
For me, box is as important as figures, so I compromised between box and eye work.

Although there is no garuntee it won’t go up as it nears end of auction.

Whenever I call up the Liverpool branches they’ve no idea what I’m on about, indeed a minute ago I was told “no we don’t do those” by the main branch. It seems permanently out of stock online and I don’t want to have to pay stupid prices on eBay etc to get this set. Is this it then, the luck of the draw for people?
I’m annoyed that this is a TRU exclusive and that it seems not all stores are getting them. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can pick one up for the retail price?

November 3rd, 2016 - 3:54pmI know you don’t want to pay too much for one of these sets, but there is one on Ebay for £130.00. I know its more than the £100 (or £80) on TRU, but I imagine even this is a small price to pay for what I think people will be paying for this set in years to come.
Or just wait it out, and see if FPI pick it up.

Other than keeping an eye on the Toys ‘R’ Us website (as its possible they’re holding some back for the Christmas market), as a Plan B I would suggest the following alternative supplier:

November 4th, 2016 - 5:44pmI took a previous posters advice and called the Sheffield store. They had a set in so I managed to persuade them to hold one back for me to send to the Liverpool store. They where great, I couldn’t fault the folk in the Sheffield store.
I spent 35 mins today trying to get the transfer organised in the Liverpool branch today. After a lot of obstacles thrown up by some of the staff there I finally got it organised and paid for. They did say it woild yake up to 2 weeks to arrive though. The main TRU store in Liverpool is a big one so there was no excuse for them to not get it in. They still have a lot of the 3 inch figures and sonics there.
I did have a look elsewhere and prices went from £130 to £260 for the set. £100 is a reasonable price to pay for an exclusive such as this. Hell when you consider the Hurt figure alone was £30 it puts the set in perspective. Anyway it’s on its way and paid for so I can relax now. I just hope everyone else gets their sets easier than I did.
