All the special features from the seperate releases of series 1-4 should be on there and it would be odd if they weren’t

I think Children Of Earth was the best Torchwood series yet! It was great wheras Miracle Day was too long and not enough happened.

Agreed, Children of Earth is amazing, it’s some of the best television you can watch.

Children of earth was amazing! RTDs finest hour and much better than most no a lot of the stuff he wrote for Doctor Who. Miracle day was awful apart from immortal sins which felt like proper torchwood

I don’t get why people dislike it either. I really enjoyed it. Sure, it was a little slow at times, but that’s down to personal appeal.

I think people need to realise that Doctor Who episodes move at an extremely fast pace, faster than anything else on television. You can’t compare Torchwood or other shows to it.

couldn’t get on with miracle day at all to be honest, Children of earth was fantastic to me

Anyone who hasn’t got Torchwood on DVD are better of buying series one – three, because those are the show at it’s best while Miracle Day is a load of americianized garbage and can’t even be classed as Torchwood.

That’s my opinion but anyone who did like the 4th season and have not got the others than this buy this boxset.

wait, 4thDoctorForever, you’re actually being prejudice against america? I mean of the flaws of this that’s all you get? I mean you say it’s flawed because it’s american? Its flaws are script-related (defying doctor who continuity, both in ep 10) and russel t. davies’s fault. Not america’s.

definately. in my opinion series 1-3 are the best torchwood has to offer. you’re missing out on some brilliant stories and an excellent three episode arc with owen and martha jones in series 2- DEFFO BUY FOR ME TO!

Why do they keep making these “complete” sets. First the came up with two sets for the first 3 seasons, now one for the first 4. As far as I know there could be more seasons…

I agree,Unfortunatly RTD said that Torchwood was looking dim for the future. He said that miracle day was a “summer hit”.
Im going to wait untill it goes down in price in the christmas sales

    • doctorwhofan27

      November 1st, 2011 - 11:30am

yeah, and the intention of the series 1-3 box set was to get people to buy it just because of miracle day.

    • John Locke

      November 1st, 2011 - 9:43pm

Well of course, I realize their intention is suck more money out of you, but for people buying it, it seem idiotic. I would either buy each individual season or buy the set when I KNEW it was canned for good.

    • John Locke

      November 1st, 2011 - 9:46pm

@Torchwood-13 Hell, it’s not like Starz has a lot of good original programs. A “summer hit” seems good enough for them.

  • Lior Knight

    November 1st, 2011 - 12:04am

Any idea if the content of season 1-3 on this set is identical to the individual release of each season in R1/US?

Also if the R2 Miracle Day release will be as it was broadcasted in US or the more censored version which was aired in UK?

I’m thinking off replacing my old R1 DVDs with this single set (my DVD player can play either region) but don’t want to order it before I know there aren’t any missing extras or cuts scenes from the episodes.

Yeah, I figured as much. Just wondered if the original R2 release had any differences from the original R1 release.

Series 4 was the first season of Torchwood that I watched on TV from start to finish and I loved it. it was slow in parts, I agree, but over all I think it was a very well thought out story line.

    • John Locke

      November 1st, 2011 - 7:52am

      Disagree.

      Season 1 was ok
      Season 2 got much better
      Season 3 was simply brilliant
      Season 4 was good

Yes, miracle day had it’s flaws, but overall it was still enjoyable and at least on par of the quality of the first 2 seasons
