As Jordan said, this is on Zoom for a much better price (until Amazon knock theirs down). Currently at £23.99 (or £21.59 if you use the 10% off code they’ll send you for signing up to the newsletter).

Should I get this? I’ve already got series 1-9 plus the specials on DVD and I think this is really appealing and would really nice on display.

Yes you should. Luckily I got season 9 just in time. It’s highest price on eBay is £800 and £200 and upwards on amazon now as it is no longer available. It sells really quickly and the price rises rapidly. I’d preorder it but this will make for a VERY valuable collection in the future if you collect them all

When did the series 1 steelbook first appear for order? I was just wondering about the gap between that release and this one, maybe it could indicate the rate at which these will be released?

What are you on about. The sooner the past series release the better. They are limited edition after all. I’m glad I got season 9 steel book when I did as it ranges from £300-£800 on eBay now and £200 upwards on amazon. Season 10 will more than likely become available late this year early 2018

      June 3rd, 2017 - 1:23pm

I would imagine it would be in early January and contain the Christmas special, Capaldi’s last. The Complete boxsets have always made sure they contain everything – like, for example, the Series 9 set had both ‘Last Christmas’ and ‘The Husbands Of River Song’. I expect the complete Series 10 will have have ‘The Return Of Doctor Mysterio’ and Christmas 2017 (‘The Doctor Rises’)

The series 10 boxset is likely to be out before Xmas. It will not hold back for the 2017 Xmas special. Just like the Time of the Doctor got its own release

    • Jack

      June 5th, 2017 - 12:08am

The time of the doctor is included as part of the 50th boxset, albeit that was limited edition. Would be weird to leage out one episode thst can easily be included in a set.

  • When The Doctor Was Me

I would by these in a heartbeat! If they were half the price. For me it would a triple dip as i have dvd and bluray of series 1-specials already.
I’ll stick with what i have for now!

For the people who are planning to wait until its cheaper, its pre-order price guarantee so you will be charged the lowest price anyway (if it does go lower) when it is released.

With the series 1 steelbook they dropped the price down to £24.99 a few days after it went up for pre-order so this will likely do the same.

    • Omega63

      June 1st, 2017 - 4:30pm

Yes, but I have a weird feeling they’ll re-release it, because in a line of Steelbook releases, Series 9 was one that has sold out already, and released before this ‘batch’ of releases.

    • JacksonLake

      June 2nd, 2017 - 4:47am

Plus by the time they get around to releasing Series 9-10, we’ll be out of the Capaldi era and the BBC will consider Series 8-10 “classic” in their eyes, so all merchandise concerning 12’s era will be marketed with the classic logo.
