About four months ago I managed to find the black dalek in Toys r us, and now it sits poudly on my shelf but there will be alot of people who will not be able to do that………I find it very upsetting that character would advertise these figures as if they were common figures that anyone could buy from the helf of their local tesco. They should be made common or taken out of the wave all together.

Does anyone else not really like the clara one much? If I saw it I would buy it and keep it, but it looks like someone’s just painted it themself. Does anyone else agree?

I hope they don’t release chase variants with the next lot of figures. Its so unfair especially for a collector. i go to toys r us every saturday and have been lucky enough to find a clara, looped angel and a doctor in a dark blue waistcoat. I realy want a cyberman and screaming angel but refuse to pay the ridiculous prices on ebay.If only i could contact character options.

I got my Black Dalek from Ebay. I won’t say where I came on Boo Boo’s “price paid” list. Despite this I am getting fed up with the rare variant thing.
I really understand the frustration of everyone collecting the figures in the fact that there seems to be no reason to do these except for making dealers rich.
It is really unfair on the younger collectors who normally do not have the funds of the older collector. After all these are toys and they are aimed at the younger collector or as a plaything.

I bought one on EBay so I guess that makes me as bad as the people who sell or want to sell them for profit.

    • booboo

      September 22nd, 2013 - 8:02pm

not bad of you want them

Besides many are being taken out of the standard retail circulation

    • Sam Bentley

      September 22nd, 2013 - 8:16pm

The only reason I worry that it sounds bad is – say I found on in TESCO’s. There’s only one. So I snap it up, quickly get it on eBay and hope the money rolls in. But little do I know that some kid, who actually wants the figure, comes into TESCO’s mere moments after me and misses it, and then he’s annoyed that they never had one. I mean – I’d only be buying it to get more money. Well, I doubt I’ll find one anyway.

    • Dalek Comand

      September 22nd, 2013 - 8:45pm

If CO want to do variants then why don’t they put a stamp on each normal figure . Once you collect say three stamps you can claim a variant figure for the normal shop price plus postage.
Co will sell more figures as collectors will buy more. Younger collectors happy as they can get them for reasonable prices. It will stop the profiteering on Ebay.

      Just an idea

    • Exterminator

      September 23rd, 2013 - 5:32am

I wrote to character options about the mail away chase figure idea. Collectors have to collect the tokens on the packs of normal figures (or just cut out the barcode) send them in together with a fixed sum for the figure and postage costs, then receive the chase figure in the post.

    • Dalek Comand

      September 23rd, 2013 - 5:56pm

      Exterminator

      Great minds etc.

I do not know why they do not do this. From a business point of view it would work well for them plus they would not upset anyone.
They must see people are getting upset by the variant thing. Come on CO keep your customers happy.

      Any thoughts Boo Boo

i cant image its 100 and that’s it

I already know of 15 Black Daleks now and Argos and Overseas havnet even had their stock yet, I already know of shops that have re-ordered stocks as well

seems strange the others aren’t showing up though

I would image your looking a minimum of 10’000 units of each figure so 100 of each is beyond rare

Having an outer packaging box, I can state that there are 12 figures in each, and from what I saw of three boxes there are 2 of each. This might sound obvious, but part of the reason shops lost interest in CO figures is that there was only one figure of some to every 2 or 3 of others.

The one that is selling the best is the Cyberman. I acquired a full set, a Cyberleader and an additional “error-item” an Ice Warrior without a base.

In my opinion, the blue light chested with arm gun Cybermam should have been the general release and the plain the rare as the blue light chested Cybermen featured more in Nightmare in Silver than the others.
