The Second Doctor

The First Doctor regenerated whilst battling the Cybermen during the events of The Tenth Planet and eventually collapsed, exhausted. His body renewed itself and transformed into the Second Doctor.

doctor-dalek580

The Second Doctor’s characteristic centred around his ability to mislead his enemy as to the actual threat he posed to their plans.

toys-r-us-2nd-set-boxback58

The Second Doctor confronted many familiar foes such as the Daleks and the Cybermen, as well as new enemies such as the Great Intelligence and the Ice Warriors. The Second Doctor was put on trial by his own people, the Time Lords, for breaking their laws of non-interference.

The Daleks

Genetic mutations housed in armoured travel machines, the Daleks are the distillation of all that is evil in the Universe. There is a suitable background included within the packaging.

This in one of eleven
Sets exclusive to Toys R Us with a different Doctor and Dalek combination, The Dalek being from a specific story. Some figures will be variants where possible.

The Dalek in this set (pictured left) is a slight variant from previous releases having green dome lights instead of clear.

I’m not really much of a classic doctor who figure collector having no Classic figures in my collection But I have to say I am impressed with the level of detail on the patrick troughton the expression on his face is ‘perfect’ the dalek also looks ultra fantastic!

I don’t think the cybermen sets (if they made them) would be as popular as the dalek sets plus the 3rd, 9th and 8th didn’t encounter the cybermen in the TV Series so that side of it wouldn’t be screen accurate.

The Eleventh Doctor will come with a Strategist Dalek in a metallic hue, it’s only been released in the plasticy color before. The Ninth Doctor will have an Emperor’s Guard Dalek from Parting of the Ways, which hasn’t been released in the 5 inch scale before.

there was an emperor dalek sold on ebay a while ago, it was done professionally by the BBC, but only did it once, and its wasnt a proto type, it went for about £500, it think, but sadly i was out bid of £50 🙁

    • Dalek the Supreme

      May 2nd, 2013 - 2:30pm

I think the Emperor might be very expensive to make. I would like to see a collect and build “Parting of the Ways” Dalek Emperor in a Collect and Build wave in either scale.

  • josh smith

    April 26th, 2013 - 5:05pm

Why not any of the others? The 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctors will feature variants that haven’t been released before, and the 1st Doctor features a Dalek that seems to be very rare and/or expensive right now.

It would be good to see a non grumpy faced 2nd Dr. He wasn’t bad tempered 90% of the time. I’d like to see a version with his bobble hat – Fury From The Deep- with removable head & life jacket. It’s about time we had a different sculpt. All the others have had more than 1! & hurry up with Jamie & The Yeti.

I’m hoping these get released soon as I have had enough of waiting for re-released figures! why can’t we have more interesting ones like the glass dalek with the 6th, why does character options have to be so annoying, first a new scale for season 7 part 2 onwards including some from part 1, now naff rereleases we have to wait ages for, and failing to listen to the fans on what they want.
