August 29th, 2014 - 4:45amThe Story So Far is TITAN showing plenty of images & actually selling no Product…
DOCTOR WHO ONE
August 29th, 2014 - 7:59amI’ve seen people buy these at Forbidden Planet in London, so these do actually sell, even if they may not be to everyone’s liking.
booboo
August 29th, 2014 - 8:46amHe means the delays, they keep announcing stuff and the dates are constantly put back
Guy The Zygon
August 29th, 2014 - 9:59amHave to agree booboo – having Insisted on/received refund after Forbidden Planet Int had payment (via PayPal) for TWO YEARS for Titan’s Dalek Masterpiece Statue – they have the front to advertise a “next in the limited edition range” Day of the Daleks statue when the first (Genesis) has still not seen light of day or even progressed to box artwork+new photos – soon as each amended release date arrives they push it back again (now 28th Nov) – integrity-wise, not made good rep for themselves -if u place Titan orders don’t hold your breath people
Radburn
August 29th, 2014 - 10:24am@ Guy The Zygon
Me & Booboo have talked about this before: BBCShop does not list items unless they have them in stock or are GUARANTEED for Pre-Order. Whereas FP just list it with a Proviso in their Rules, that they may never get it in at all. Like you I have in the past been waiting for items for 2 years, 6 months & a year and a half & had to either cancel them & get a Refund or they have cancelled the Orders themselves. In no way should anyone be waiting for something Pre-Ordered in 6 months, let 1 or 2 years…
Radburn
August 29th, 2014 - 10:27am…that should read ‘let alone 1 or 2 years’
Guy The Zygon
August 29th, 2014 - 11:04pm@ Radburn
Agree 100%… have made my views on this issue very clear both verbally and in writing to both companies mentioned, really they should feel morally bound to revisit their policy of continuing to advertise and keep money for items so long overdue: my suspicion otherwise can only be that the two companies are to some extent in league with each other: i.e. if there is insufficient demand by way of pre-order, the item is “delayed” – worse still, the idea that pre-paid orders may actually be FUNDING production of those items! -grrrr 🙂
Guy The Zygon
August 29th, 2014 - 11:23pm*Meant to add also that while it does make some sense not to pre-pay for orders, not everyone is in a position financially to suddenly have money taken from their account at whatever random point in the future a company (on a whim it sometimes seems) sends the products out! Personally, I would rather know an item is paid for (provided as you say, the wait is limited to a reasonable length of time, i.e. not more than six months) -that way one is in control and can always demand a refund…but hey – different strokes for different folks
Radburn
August 30th, 2014 - 7:47am@ Guy The Zygon
What you say make’s perfect sense to me ~ Again I would prefer to pay for items in advance so I know I’m covered.
Currently I think TITAN is over-reaching with it’s Product & have had the ‘Geronimo’ Case on Order since Jan 2014 – It’s now been put back FOUR times! When you say ‘(ie) if there is insufficient demand by way of pre-order, the item is “delayed” – worse still, the item that pre-paid orders may actually be FUNDING production of those items’ is not only correct it is true. By way of example I ordered the Bif Bang Pow!
Radburn
August 30th, 2014 - 7:57amContinued:
Figures of the ‘Talons Of Weng-Chiang’ through FP. It was on Pre-Order for a year & a half then cancelled due to ‘Lack Of Pre-Orders’ it was shortly after that their whole line was cancelled & their license expired. But they had adverts for at least 25 or more figures, some even printed on the packaging of items they did release. This is what concerns me about TITAN – Lots of images, no info & no product. They have managed to sell both ‘Geronimo’ & ‘Gallifrey’ at the SDCC & Fan Expo in the US/Canada with Exclusives though…
Guy The Zygon
August 30th, 2014 - 8:57aminteresting to know wht those 25 unreleased Biff Bang Pow! figures would have been (saw preliminary models of Magnus Greel, Mr Sin, Anti-Man, Eldrad, Kraal & Li H’sen Chang) perhaps but that is all
Radburn
August 30th, 2014 - 12:59pmOther’s included (That I can remember off-hand?) ~ 10th. Doctor, 11th. Doctor ‘New Costume’, 12th. Doctor, Amy, Rory, Clara, River Song, ‘War’ Doctor, Weeping Angel & Yellow Dalek Eternal…
booboo
August 30th, 2014 - 1:03pmthey also went to great pains to show everyone the 12th Doctor head sculpt (which looked quite good)
i think there was more to it than just their licence expiring
booboo
August 30th, 2014 - 1:09pmRadburn, we are going to attempt to get the titan list updated today – have you see any pics of chase figures for the geronimo are gallifrian ranges or have seen what they are so we can sort out what’s what i have completely lost track.
we were actually shown them at some stage but couldn’t take pictures then and have forgotten what they are.
