They could do with operating a ‘vault’ system where they lay up orders until you instruct them to send or they just wait until the whole order is fulfilled and dispatch. Or send separately if you want.
Otherwise that’s the way of the world folks. You get things sent separate and you will get charged – post is so expensive now that a lot of places cannot eat into their profits to pay for/subsidise it, that’s why free shipping items on ebay are expensive!

Word of warning. Don’t get caught out by Forbidden Planet’s new postage charges. From their website:

Shipping rates for UK customers are calculated in the cart and checkout stages and are usually as follows:

    UK Orders Cost
    Up to £4.99 £2.55
    £5.00 – £9.99 £3.50
    £10.00 – £14.99 £4.00
    £15.00 – £19.99 £4.99
    Over £20.00 £5.99
    Over £200.00 £15.00

However, if we expect to send out your order in multiple shipments we will calculate the number of shipments required to fulfil your order during checkout, based on the pre-order dates of the items in that order. A flat rate of £2.50 per shipment will be added to the above rates based on the total value of your order. For example if you ordered two comics with a combined value of £6.60, with release dates a month apart, the shipping cost would be calculated at £3.50 (the base cost based on the order value) plus £2.50 (for the additional shipment) for a total shipping cost of £12.60.

I’ve just cancelled several orders with them/

Yes I’ve been stung by this last week. I was charged separate postage for each item, yet they all turned up in the same parcel anyway. £8 it cost me to recieve a couple of shirts in one postage bag

Thanks for this! I was already annoyed at their shipping costs, this just makes it even worse. They used to charge a £1 per comic. Defo not pre-ordering these now. Can’t afford it. I was going to pre-order in batches of three – but based on the above, shipping would cost me £8.50!! Nah. FT. I’m out.
