Do you think they’ll make a new tardis console set for series 7 in 3.75″ scale?

I expect so. As it wont be as expensive to manufacture, I hope they put the money they didn’t spend into light and sounds, and if possible a moving time rotor

If they do make one it will be like the time zone playsets that you have to build. However there was talk that they are releasing all 12 doctors in the 3.75 inch scale and with them will be part of the console room that you then need to collect in order to build. But thats just a rumour

When I was little I made my own 10th Doctors Tardis. It was made with wood, a plastic bottle and paint!

For me, the one in second place is the current console. It seems to be an amazing combination of the classic series TARDIS, with a few elements of the 2005-2010 TARDIS. Thank god we won’t be seeing orange everywhere anymore.

The Eighth Doctor’s TARDIS comes in third place for me. We unfortunately only saw it for a brief amount of time, but it looked so grand and massive.

In my opinion, the best TARDIS console room is the 2005-2010 one. It was large, looked as though it really was an alien spaceship which could travel in time. The worst one without a doubt was the 2010-2012 one. It looked silly. For example, using a typewriter as a control? The main control panel didn’t even face the doors.

What I don’t understand, is why people say that all of the classic series (minus the 8th’s) TARDIS’s were different. In my opinion, they all looked exactly the same, apart from adding a few buttons or one or two screens.

Ahem, the wooden TARDIS seen in The Masque of Mandragora to The Robots of Death? And the other TARDISes were different.

      April 12th, 2013 - 8:37pm

That was a secondary console room, not the main one.

I think the 2010 – 2012 console was great, it looked very Steampunkish and Doctory.

    April 12th, 2013 - 3:51pm

I only own the 2005-2010 TARDIS console playset, as that thats the only one that was out when I bought toys for myself.

However, I don’t understand why Character Options have since taken the cheap option with everything, starting with the awful 2010 Flight Control TARDIS, which was a MAJOR backstep to the original, which unfortunately we are now unable to get hold of without paying a large sum of money. But then with the 2010 TARDIS playset, not including any lights or sound effects whatsoever.

id love to see plastic and electronic tardis playsets which u can buy as just the console room and buy exspansion packs that clip on to parts of the playset so where doors are on the tardis or where the beginning of a corridor is u can buy exspansion packs like corridors to clip on. And with classic tardis sets u could have corridors that u buy and then u can buy some special rooms like the socondary console room which clips on to the corridors or the tardis bedrooms or swimming pool

I don’t have it yet, but I would like to get it sometime so I have a console room, cause the only time I’ve seen the 2005-2010 console room, it was over $200, and the 2010-2012 console room is always $60-$80.

      April 12th, 2013 - 2:45pm

It’s great, the only missing detail is the coat-hanger that they pull to start the engine and the seat belts donot look like red-carpet barriers as they were in the episode.

Though in some releases they are red.

The 9th -10th Doctors Tardis Playset is my favourite piece of DW merchandise of all time. Ahhhh…. fully syncronised lights and sounds (plus ‘hidden sounds’) and a fully movable multi-effect rotor… Such a lively piece of merchandise.

The sad thing is I know we’ll never get a full motion playset like that ever released again, at least not by Character Options.

I broke most of my 9th-10th doctors tardis’ railings when i was smaller 🙁 and i have lost the actual console 😥 the rest is in a box but that is my favourite; it lights up and is very big.

I got my 11th drs tardis from sainsburys for £12! its quite small compared to the other one and it should light up and it is made of cardboard. I think that the new tardis should be made in 5″ as an exclusive with the doctor and clara figures – it will never happen though 🙁
