The Keeper of Traken Collectors Set – Pictures

The Keeper Traken Action Figure Set

Expected 15th December 2011 price £39.99

The Fourth Doctor and Adric learn from the wizened Keeper of Traken that a great evil has come to his planet in the form of a Melkur – a calcified statue. The Keeper is nearing the end of his reign and seeks the Doctor’s help in preventing the evil from taking control of the bioelectronic Source that is the keystone of the Traken Union’s civilisation.

The Melkur, via various deceptions, becomes the next Keeper. It is then, however, revealed to be the Master’s TARDIS. Its owner, still blackened and emaciated, hopes to use the Source’s power to regenerate himself. The Doctor manages to expel him and install a new Keeper in his place, but in a last minute ploy the Master traps one of the Traken Consuls, Tremas, and merges with his body before fleeing the planet.

Contents:
1 x The Fourth Doctor in Waistcoat action figure.
1 x The Master Decayed action figure.
1 x The Melkur Statue action figure.
1 x Master’s TARDIS as a Grandfather Clock
1 x Source Manipulator Sphere accessory.

Did you know… Dapol produced a Melkur figure which was probably one of their best…

I’ve never seen this story, but from what I know about it, wasn’t the Melkur just a Statue? He’s still a great figure, and I heard he moved (or something), but it seems an odd choice compared to including somebody like Adric or Nyssa 😕

Oh wow! Fan attack! I love the Melkur, I love the clock (The Masters Tardises) I love this master (The face has been captured to perfection, as has most of the Action Figures recently) and The doctor. Well. No Scarf wave. This is defo on my xmas list. And it is released December 15. Still in time for Christmas. Yey! Love to see a Fourth Doctor wave called adventure set 2 with Sutekh (with throne) Doctor in Timelord costume (from deadly Assassin) Kraal and the Fendahl!!! That would be so cool! But quite expensive!

These new sets being released are absolutely fantastic – this one and the Enemies of the Third Doctor are just superb – though are they ALL coming out in December? It’s going to be an expensive month. I’m really hoping there’s a 7th Doctor set released too with – fingers crossed, an Ace figure in it!

No pictures of them have been seen yet, but Katy Manning has seen two of them (one being The Three Doctors, the other she couldn’t remember the story from). Frazer Hines has given permission for a figure but nothing about seeing one yet.

This set looks not to bad. The masters tardis as the stone statue looks very good, but not too sure of the clock. The doctor figure appears to look a little startled though. But overall I think I will but this set.
