The Doctor Who Figurine Collection Magazine Special 2
Doctor Who Figurine Collection Special
On sale Thursday 27th March 2014 £15.99
From the world’s longest-running sci-fi TV show comes the second special in the Doctor Who Figurine Collection: the Slitheen.
Disguised as members of the British establishment, these aliens from Raxacoricofallapatorius engineer a global panic in order to obtain the codes for Britain’s nuclear arsenal.
With the weapons they plan to turn Earth into radioactive scrap and sell it! This member of the Slitheen family is a detailed replica from the 2005 story Aliens in London/World War Three. Standing 85mm tall, it was recreated using both the costume and computer-generated versions of the Slitheen seen in the adventure!
Please check www.dw-figurines.com for more information or visit their facebook page.

April 2nd, 2014 - 10:32pmAny ideas what th next special will be?
Anonymous
April 2nd, 2014 - 10:56pmGiven what has been said, evidence from other collections and so on and so forth, it seems almost a certainty the next two specials will be:
The Face of Boe
K-1
Don’t know which way round they’ll release them, but those two are almost certainly next. Beyond that it is anyone’s guess.
Doctor Rules
April 1st, 2014 - 4:08pmcan’t wait for the next special. Sometime in July I think it will be out. Both special figurines so far are absolutely superb.

February 28th, 2014 - 8:09pmkroll would be epic for a special figurine
VespiformsSting
February 28th, 2014 - 10:09pmHow much do you reckon a kroll figure would cost I’d say about sick squid 😀
VespiformsSting
February 28th, 2014 - 6:09pmDoes anyone know what that stupid bit on nonsense on the forearm is supposed to be ??
Anonymous
February 28th, 2014 - 6:44pmIt has never been explicitly stated anywhere on screen. There could be any number of explanations for what it is a bone, a vein, part of the pump the actors inside the suit used to operate the fingers…
VespiformsSting
February 28th, 2014 - 10:08pmLol the last explanation being the most sensible 😀 ….
VespiformsSting
February 28th, 2014 - 6:08pmSuch a good replica of such a ridiculous creature…..the only good thing about the slitheen is that annette badland got to put in a good performance playing one….
Run you clever boy
February 28th, 2014 - 5:18pmRight I subscribed today from issue 8 and the premium edition is the postage good because a lot of people have said about them breaking which worries me someone help !!!!!!!!! And will someone give me some details on gifts and daleks
booboo
February 28th, 2014 - 5:23pmgenerally its OK
you will hear about breakages but people tend to post when things go wrong more than when things go right!
presumably you wall have to pay an additional £7 to get the premium Daleks in full
the free gifts are per delivery (not issues) so expect the emperor with your 4th delivery that’s 3-4 months, in the mean time you will get a stand and binder.
Run you clever boy
February 28th, 2014 - 5:34pmThanks booboo mind is settled also I’ve ordered the premium subscription so when will the first one arrive and I ordered from issues 8 because I got all the other issues and then stopped so need to catch up, with issues 8,9,10,11,12,13.14 will I get them in one go??? Thanks
booboo
February 28th, 2014 - 5:56pmnot normally, you would get 2 per delivery every 4 weeks
KNs47
March 1st, 2014 - 3:55pmIf you’ve ordered them as back issues you could get them all in one go, but if they’ve added them on as part of your sub, then they send them out quicker with more than one delivery a month till you catch up.
We’ve already had one of the Premium sub Daleks send out, if you’ve jumped onto the premium sub late have you specifically asked how you get the Dalek you’ve now missed? As Booboo said you might need to pay the missing £1s.
Anonymous
March 2nd, 2014 - 11:34pmIf you miss the jumping on point it looks like they won’t send you out the one you missed, but they won’t back charge you for it either.
They say you will need to pay the amount of money to make up for the Daleks you will receive, although I’m not sure if they’ll actually do that.

February 27th, 2014 - 6:33pmwhen is this out

Anonymous
February 25th, 2014 - 10:27pmI haven’t seen anyone mentioning a magazine so I’d presume there isn’t one.

Mumble5557 Online
February 25th, 2014 - 4:55pmI wonder if they’d do The Mara?
Anonymous
February 25th, 2014 - 5:48pmThere’s nothing stopping them, if the collections runs for long enough I’m sure it would appear.
VespiformsSting
February 28th, 2014 - 6:06pmCome on there are far more impressive thinks than that …how about the Macra ? Or a full scale Drashing or a war machine ? Or Arcturus ??
The Mara would be very near the bottom of my list of desired classics Im afraid…I cant stand those snakes stories and Kinda saw a lot of class actors landed in a ludicrous nonsensical script….

February 25th, 2014 - 4:26pmAw, I thought the Slitheen was going to be a regular issue and not a special. Ah well, it’s only £15, I’ll pay it anyway.
Haydenp
February 25th, 2014 - 3:49pmhow big is it in inches?
Booboo Jr
February 25th, 2014 - 3:52pm85 millimetres = 3.34645669 inches
Thank you Google…
Haydenp
February 26th, 2014 - 10:16amthanks booboo jr

February 25th, 2014 - 3:35pmNot as good as the TARDIS one but not too bad…
Infofreak
February 25th, 2014 - 2:05pmDo they need to be larger figures in order to be considered a special issue? Slitheen looks great!
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
February 25th, 2014 - 2:14pmI think they do. The standard issues are all ratioed the same (1:24 I think) Although the prototype of the slitheen made it look bigger than it’s TV counterpart (although I coulb be wrong)
Anonymous
February 25th, 2014 - 2:26pmIf their previous figurine collection (based on Marvel Comics) is anything to go by, the specials can be placed into three cateogries:
Specials (larger figures)
Mega Specials (scaled down figures of huge characters, still larger than regular specials though, look at the Emperor Dalek for an example)
Twin Pack (two regular sized figures released together)
I would presume this is the same here.
nimons jelly babies
February 28th, 2014 - 9:59pmI doubt that is true as this states it is only 85mm tall, some of the normal figurines are 100mm or larger so i’m not sure where they got the scale from for this particular figurine. Looks alright anyway and i’ll get it because i want to complete the collection, not overly excited about it though. Seems like a bit of a waste for a special.
Anonymous
March 2nd, 2014 - 4:26pmBut if you look at the pictures you can see it is considerably larger in its width and breadth (its base is far larger than any other figurine in the collection). It may have the same height as the others, but its other dimensions mean it is considerably larger than the rest.
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
February 25th, 2014 - 1:22pmThe Character Option Vespiform and Reaper were both excellent. I want the Myrka or The Face of Boe but ideally something we havent already seen as a figure…
Shane McEntee
February 25th, 2014 - 4:12pmI’d love to see a TARDIS console. The Steampunk Cyberking would be amazing too. I despersately want a Captain Jack with coat though.
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
February 25th, 2014 - 1:19pmGot My Emperor Dalek Today – It is superb – I sent you a picture (with cyberman & omega) on your FB page Booboo (Instagrammed for added effect) Paul
Paloma Nunez Alcalde
February 26th, 2014 - 10:04amI have pictures too in my facebook
DJHarrington
February 25th, 2014 - 1:15pmAlthough I love the figurine itself I am struggling to work out how they are going to fill a 50+ page magazine all about the slitheen
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
February 25th, 2014 - 2:11pmIt’s had a few appearances in the SJA too. Perhaps it won’t have the book sized magazine this time either. i don’t know why they did tiny magazines for the premium daleks. Theres nowhere to file them!!!
Moodbeam
February 25th, 2014 - 12:31pmI’d love for them to do the monster from ‘The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit’ but I’m guessing it won’t happen because it wouldn’t be in scale.
76 Totters Lane
February 25th, 2014 - 1:14pmThey can do a scaled down version of the Beast. I’d like to see a Reaper from ‘Father’s Day’ or the Vespiform from ‘The Unicorn and the Wasp’.
