No idea what the finale concert is. The S8 deleted scenes sound interesting though

Isn’t it that aftershow that was on after the Doctor Falls that everyone thought would have the Thirteenth Doctor announcement in?

Reminds me of the Invasion of Time with the cogs

I really want to get this but I’m wondering whether I should wait and see if there will be a UK release first before I buy it, anyone got any advice? Does anyone know if there is likely to be a UK release, and if not is the US release likely to sell out quickly?

      January 8th, 2018 - 11:00pm

      Depends if it’s region free

      Ok thanks for the reply.

US got the David Tennant Years and Matt Smith years
10th in 2011 and 11th in 2014, UK got the 10th in 2014. Australia got none. So you might get the Matt Smith years this year and the Peter Capaldi years 3 years later.
Don’t know why it works that way…

Lets not forget the COMPLETE DAVID TENNANT YEARS was in the same format BUT only released on DVD and not Blu Ray. Perhaps they hadn’t done the upscaling conversion yet that was later to be released on the Blu Rays. Heck, I’ll be buying this regardless of whether it will play in a UK player or not!

As for the 4K debate, dream on guys, it will be a while before we see Dr Who in 4K.

To put it in perspective, the new STAR WARS film (The Last Jedi) will the first SW film to have a 4K release so expect DW to be well behind the trend on that.

What do you think the odds are of seeing rereleases of S8,9 & 10 in the style of the S1-7 and Specials rereleases?

    • Weeping Angel

      January 2nd, 2018 - 11:58pm

I hope so so so so much!!!!

    • Jordan Scott

      January 3rd, 2018 - 2:04am

      I really hope they do

    • JacksonLake

      January 3rd, 2018 - 7:14am

Here’s hoping! Wonder how they’ll release the 2013 specials or Twice Upon a Time though.

    • The Flying Shark

      January 3rd, 2018 - 7:39am

I know the earlier series have been released to death by now, but I think the time is right for a Series 1-10 box set.

      January 3rd, 2018 - 9:30am

Agreed! Preferably one where certain features have been fixed as well as new ones, and why not chuck in the 10th Doctor animated specials in there too!

  • itzPrew

    January 2nd, 2018 - 10:31pm

If I bought this would it play in the UK, I thought blue ray was region free? Tbh I already have them on steelbook and DVDs, only really interested in the bonus features.

  • Weeping Angel

    January 2nd, 2018 - 7:29pm

Does anyone know if it will be released in Region 2?

    January 2nd, 2018 - 6:23pm

Booboo, why is this listed on Toys and Figures, instead of Dvd and Blu-ray?

    • booboo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 6:25pm

default until i get on my PC not easy to select categories on my phone

      January 2nd, 2018 - 7:10pm

      I understand

    January 2nd, 2018 - 2:47pm

It seems a lot will stick with Blu-Ray for now even though thats passe. Time for BBC worldwide to take a step forward and Roll with 4K releases now that series 11 is becoming more filmic.

    • BigBangTwo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 5:37pm

I can’t see that happening anytime soon. Doctor Who has some great CGI these days (Villengard looked absolutely stunning) but I don’t know how much of it could stand the test of 4K.

    • Jordan Scott

      January 5th, 2018 - 10:49pm

It would be incredible if 4K is one of the factors that they were referring to with the whole “new lenses and cinematic look” thing for S11.

    January 2nd, 2018 - 2:05pm

    I hope, I hope

They include a Black and White version of Twice Upon a Time on this

    • Anonymous

      January 2nd, 2018 - 2:07pm

and those Special Features better be Behind the Science documentary’s (not fan show), and deleted scenes

    • booboo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 2:15pm

you can do that anytime, just turn down the colour on your TV set/ monitor

    • Jordan Scott

      January 2nd, 2018 - 3:47pm

I mean there were apparently Cybermen on set of the Snow Cap base, however none of that appeared in the final cut. So there better be loads of deleted scenes.

    • Anonymous

      January 3rd, 2018 - 5:04pm

It’s more than just turning the colour down on your tv. To quote the director of Logan who did a noir version: “To make a great B&W version of a film, the whole thing’s gotta be regraded & timed shot by shot.In convert to b&w , one must determine which hues go dark/ light, adjust contrast, blacks. Turning down color on tv just makes gray mush….”

    • booboo

      January 3rd, 2018 - 5:10pm

not on mine, looks fine, tried it.increased the contrast a tad certainly wouldn’t want all that expense (into the £1000’s probably) put into another disc.

    USA Only?????

    • booboo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 2:11pm

seems to be, the Matt Smith years never made it here

      January 3rd, 2018 - 1:20pm

It took the David Tennant Years boxset 3 years to reach the UK, so….2021 until P Cap boxset reaches the UK?

  • Alex

    January 2nd, 2018 - 1:44pm

Can someone make sure to keep us up to date about what these 3 hours bonus content are! If they are deleted scenes for TUAT, then I will be a) Thoroughly annoyed and b) Incredibly excitd!

  • alex

    January 2nd, 2018 - 1:24pm

with this coming out what are the chances of us actually getting a series 10 boxset that includes Twice upon a time? to actually make it a complete series 10…..

  • James A

    January 2nd, 2018 - 1:16pm

Nitpick – they used a Series 7B promo of Clara.

    • Doctor Stu

      January 2nd, 2018 - 1:23pm

There’s so many promo pictures of Clara during the capalidi years they could have used and they go and balls it up by sticking series 7 Clara on it XD

    • BigBangTwo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 4:24pm

It’s not even 7B, it’s Oswin from Asylum of the Daleks!

    • Doctor Stu

      January 2nd, 2018 - 8:12pm

I meant the Clara pic on the disc cover, its from journey to the centre of the TARDIS. But it’s also stupid to have Oswin on the box as well

    • BigBangTwo

      January 3rd, 2018 - 9:35pm

Oh wow, I didn’t even notice that!
It’s a nice looking set but that really irks my OCD!

      January 7th, 2018 - 1:59pm

OMG I just noticed, that IS Oswin on the cover….smh BBCWW

  • timelord327

    January 2nd, 2018 - 1:07pm

Any ideas on what the ‘3 hours of bonus material’ will be?

    • The Outcast

      January 2nd, 2018 - 1:09pm

Hopefully the Twice Upon A Time deleted scenes.

  • Anonymous

    January 2nd, 2018 - 1:04pm

Why release this, worst set ever.

    • booboo

      January 2nd, 2018 - 1:09pm

presumably because these sets sell well in the USA if not the UK.

      They don’t get the steelbooks

  • Thomas

    January 2nd, 2018 - 12:57pm

Why do they only release these on Blu-Ray? It’s so annoying!

    • ahunter8056

      January 2nd, 2018 - 1:13pm

Because it’s 2018. Who in their right mind would watch standard definition when you can watch in high definition instead? It’s like choosing VHS over DVD.

    • Doctor Mysterio

      January 2nd, 2018 - 9:08pm

Maybe you should upgrade Thomas, like the Cybermen would…
