More Doctor Who 5″ Collectors Sets Due?
Second Series of 5″ Collectors Sets Due?
It appears the Toys r us sets have sold well leading to a second series. (and that’s before the 8th Doctor One hits the shelves!)
We dont know if these are Toys r us sets or perhaps exclusive some other retailer or on general release.
Somewhere along the way we are getting a 5″ Victorian 11th Doctor!

The Snowmen set – new TARDIS interior with Christmas Doctor, Clara, Simeon and Snowman
Series 7 Part 2 set – flight control TARDIS with new interior card, Doctor from The Rings of Akhaten, Clara from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS, Ice Warrior Skaldak with swappable head of real creature and Cyberman with gun.

August 4th, 2013 - 6:46amI know the Doctor from The Snowmen is probably the closest thing we’ll ever get to a 5 inch Series 7b figure, but it would be nice to get a set with Clara, metallic Dalek Drone, Whisperman, Grand Marshall Skaldak, a 2013 Cyberman, and The Great Intelligence.

Also TRU? What is that? Anyways Toys R Us near me will not have any of these new sets. I got the 10th Doctor set from Toys R Us but really they did not have any of the 3.75 sets or Cyberman and Doctor figure. Really they only have 5 inch Vampire,Straight jacket Doctor and Damaged Cyberman.

August 2nd, 2013 - 7:27amI’m really loving all these 5″ sets, they’ve rekindled my interest in buying DW figures again, which had dwindled away with the 3.5″ figures.
It’s not just that these figures are 5″ scale that’s appealing – they are genuinely interesting and well made sets.

its also possible to rights to even produce the figure may be to high

August 1st, 2013 - 9:13pmI wouldn’t get so Excited, Al hasn’t confirmed that we will definitely get it i’m afraid, he states – “yes .. At 5 inch scale … If …if … It goes ahead”. It not a Definite yes at this point along with the 2nd Doctor in Coat “just to be super clear … Sculpted but NOT signed off until late 2013 at the earliest .. So no promises”

August 1st, 2013 - 9:29pmThe fact though, that he is trying to get one mass produced by Designworks Windsor (I Assume, who have already done a prototype) Is good news in its own right, Please Al don’t scrap it. This is a good step forward for 5 inch new series. And the Toys R Us Set’s are proof that the general releases are making profits.

August 1st, 2013 - 9:03pmFrom what I gather, Al has stated CO have the sculpt but it cant get the go ahead for mass production till late 2013, and even then its not definite. Also rumours of a Clara too since these are collectors sets and ‘Sets’ implies more than one figure. We could see a Snowmen Twin Pack And Another set unknown. I Will snap these up as soon as they come out 😀

I think there may be a Twelve Doctors set released at some stage during ‘whoever’s’ reign as the Time Lord but I don’t think Dewar would rush into these things all to quickly. Mind you, 11 Drs set was only released a couple of months into Series 5…

August 3rd, 2013 - 6:01pmThese are collectors sets for the 50th. The 3.75″ figures are for the child collectors, not the people who have loads and loads of 5″ figures. I think Dewar may have realised this but one thing we know is that the Hide and Angels Take Manhattan play set are soon to be released, hopefully followed by wave 2. Won’t continue collecting until I’m holding that The Snowmen Doctor.
