Underground Toys are pleased to announce the details of their 2010 San Diego Comic Con exclusive classic Doctor Who items – The 5th Doctor in Regeneration Outfit and The 5th Doctor & The Master from Planet of Fire

THE FIFTH DOCTOR

His youthful appearance belied his wisdom and experience, but this Doctor still found it frustrating that so many people questioned his judgement, especially his companions. While on an alien planet he and his companion Peri contracted a disease and the Doctor gave Peri the only cure, necessitating another regeneration…

THE MASTER from ‘PLANET OF FIRE’

The Fifth Doctor and Turlough are on the island of Lanzarote because the TARDIS has detected a mysterious signal being transmitted from an unknown, recently salvaged artefact. They meet a young American botany student named Peri Brown, whose stepfather has been replaced with a shape changing robot as part of a plot by the Master. He plans to bring the TARDIS to the planet Sarn, so he can use that world’s revitalising Numismaton gas to restore his body, accidentally shrunken in an accident. The Master is apparently defeated when the stream of gas turns to a hot flame. The Doctor destroys the shape changing robot, Kamelion, at the robot’s own bidding as it has become completely unstable. Turlough leaves to return home, while Peri leaves with the Doctor.

In this exclusive set from Underground Toys we present the Master from ‘Planet of Fire’ and the Fifth Doctor. The Fifth Doctor includes his cream Panama hat and comes with a Sonic Screwdriver accessory.

I think that the actor who played the master at the time was very good because i’ve watched lots of the old episodes and i stare at the telly when i see the master. It was a good idea to release classic doctor who figures. What should i buy? Old or new figures?

Its odd that this is called ‘Planet of Fire’ set. The Master is in the correct outfit, but the 5th Doctor isn’t. Not only is he in the wrong jumper and trousers, but he should be in rolled up sleeves and braces! And its another USA exclusive just to annoy UK fans even more. Still, seeing as B&M stores are now selling the previous exclusive ‘damaged Cyberman’ for £3.99, I hope this follow in a couple of years as it isn’t worth the escalated FP prices.

This looks like one of the best figure packs released ever, I would totally buy this just I don’t buy stuff off the internet to complicated to explain, if Peter does hav a cricket ball in his hand this would make it even better but if not they shouldn’t do this just toand it doesn’t make us happy when they show something and then put out something different I hate when people do that, but any WHO this is a great set what a match the Doctor and the Master, Delgado and Peter, if i seen this anywhere besides the internet I would get it no…

I wouldn’t worry, these promo image rarely do the figures full justice. I’m sure the actual figure will be fine
