Underground Toys is pleased to announce details of their 2011 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive Doctor Who item – River Song and Pandorica Chair from ‘The Pandorica Opens’
THE PANDORICA
Legend has it that the Pandorica is a prison, a cage to contain the most feared warrior in the universe. But it is all a lie – the Pandorica is a box created to contain just one person – the Doctor. When his TARDIS exploded, all parts of time and space were wiped out, never having existed.
The massed armies of all the Doctor’s foes – Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans and others banded together and created the legends of the Pandorica, and then locked him inside it. But the Pandorica energy was a restorative, it could bring things back to life, and the Doctor piloted the Pandorica into the heart of his exploding TARDIS and set off Big Bang 2, rebooting the entire universe
RIVER SONG
Of all the people who have travelled or will travel with the Doctor, River Song is the most enigmatic of them all.
She always seems to be one step ahead of the Doctor, even when he is in her past. Nobody has been able to figure out how River knows the Doctor so well, although there have been plenty of guesses!
Although River is a force to be reckoned with, she sometimes needs the Doctor’s help – whether it’s against the Vashta Nerada or the Weeping Angels, or any of the other foes they have faced, or even will face in future. Confused? It will all become clear… one day…

BUT THE CHAIR IS SO COOL!! I LOVE THE CHAIR!! AND IN THE LAST PICTURE LOOKS AT RIVERS SKIN COLOUR, SHE’S ORANGE!! WHAT DOES SDCC STAND FOR? I HAVE 4 PIECES OF THE PANDORICA, SO THAT WOULD BE REALLY COOL TO GET THE CHAIR

June 29th, 2011 - 8:17pmSDCC stands for San Diego Comic Con, which is a convention held in San Diego in which various themes are showcased and exclusive toys can be obtained. This is one of them, but is most likely going to be available of Forbidden Planet at some point in the future, as was the case with the jacket-less Eleventh Doctor with Dalek Scientist. Also, please make sure caps lock is turned of when you write a comment 🙂

I also wish they’d release more companions from the original series. Would love a Classic Sarah Jane Smith or Zoe.

Wish more classic series stuff would come out. There’s a lot more variety to be had from that era of the show.
Would love to see “the kandy man” from the happiness patrol released. That’s a 7th doctor story for all you newbies lol

June 30th, 2011 - 11:38pmDifferent eras, different generations – not everybody grew up with the 7 incarnations of the Doctor that began the series, I may have caught a few of McCoy’s final episodes and then Paul McGann breathed new life into the series (even beyond the TV movie with the Big Finish Audio Adventures) for me CE was too melancholic and DT was too flamboyant – Matt Smith is my Doctor, there’s something about him that captivates my interest in the show; it keeps me coming back wanting more

June 30th, 2011 - 11:46pmI didn’t get any of that with CE or DT, I’d watch maybe a couple of episodes a series when they were first aired and that was it – I’ve been delving into the classics and for me Matt Smith is on par with the likes of Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker (two of my favourite Doctors along side Paul McGann and Matt Smith) – in short I was born too late to really appreciate the characterisations of the previous 8 before RTD regenerated the series (without an 8th to 9th regeneration I hasten to add), but hey, thank God for dvd 😀

Her cheeks are too chubby. Her hair is too far back and, due to this, her forehead is too big. If those facial features were fixed, I may warm to it.
As for the Pandorica Chair, you need 3 Pandorica Pieces and this; 2 walls, chair/base and roof.
It’s £20 and will be in FP after the SDCC

June 30th, 2011 - 11:21pmThere’s just no pleasing some people, I for one having been crying out for a new River Song figure from series five (still want to see a version of her from The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone) – but I think this version from The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang is a great addition to an already phenomenal wave of action figures from the 11th Doctor’s adventures (plus it was on my list)
