As we’ve filmed these documentaries for nearly 40 years … the technical quality of the recording medium improved dramatically. We started out with Low-Band Umatic, moved to SP Umatic, then Betacam, Betacam SP … then DVCAM and finally broadcast quality digital media.

But in a way, that’s part of the joy with these productions … they, themselves, are moments in history.

All have been remastered and digitised to improve the quality as much as possible.

I hope you enjoy watching them!!!

as it’s unofficial it’s not the same video clips used over and over again while they talk to completely random people like colin bakers hairdressers sister or his butchers brother is it?.The format may sound ridiculous but i had a unofficial spice girls vhs like that sadly in the 90s lol.

No not at all. These are proper interviews a lot of them taken in the 80s 90s and beyond. Many are just as good as the official bbc ones. Writers, directors, producers, the earliest releases even had some doctors interviewed. Reeltime have been doing these since the mid 80s and some interviews valuable is unmeasurable considering the dvd range didn’t get the likes of Jackie lane Ian marter or Michael craze. If you look at the listing of people interviewed for this release it’s just writers and directors.
