Are there any differences between this one and the Time of the Doctor one? I finally managed to pick one of these up on eBay loose for cheap, so I’m curious which one it may be. (Though, I don’t particularly want to try pulling the head off, etc, lol.) Someone mentioned changes to the ‘suit’?

It’s a really rare figure now, hardly ever up for sale and when it does come up it goes for a lot. It’s funny to me TARDIS_H63 calling it a ‘peg-warmer’ lol.

How much was this special offer? Don’t know where I was when this was available lol.

I have the Underground Toys Time of the Doctor set with swappable heads and small coloured changes to the suit. Think I’m ok to pass on this. Is my set more rare or not than this one, anyone?

According to their Twitter account they are having problems with their courier. Would have been nice if they emailed about it as not everyone checks Twitter.

Out of all the packaging designs of CO, since Dr Who returned I’d say this his my favourite design.
Wouldn’t mind if it made a comeback one day.

Always had a good experience with the company, I forgot to add the promo code as I had to redo the order to get Klarna to work. Emailed and Dylan added it for me.Get reminded of them everytime I leave the house, though only for shopping these days as have their TARDIS doormat

I don’t ever remember this being rare? It was always in Toys R Us… If anything, it was a peg-warmer! And the Time Of the Doctor one was always in stock at Forbidden Planet as I remember too!

its rare because you cant buy it new anywhere any more, this is not toys r us stock either, it also sells for more than this regularly on ebay now, if no one wanted it they wouldn’t be selling so many

there are such things as new collectors as well who would never get the opportunity to pick this up otherwise.

Hopefully they can find more like this lurking around in stock rooms

This happened with the second wave of Sound FX daleks where new stock started to turn up.

Didn’t the Time of the Doctor set have interchangeable heads?

    • Jamie D

      February 12th, 2021 - 8:37pm

Yes but it only came with one body so you cant display both heads at once.

I put my 12th Doctor head from the original Time of set on the 1st release body of 12th as preferred the head sculpt.

Same, it was weird both 3.75 and 5.5 had great sculpts and then they decided on the rubbish one

I regularly go on the StarWars sites and this very topic as been brought up before Mrs Croot.
When Hasbro responds about an inferior sculpt being used over a mucn improved sculpt, they usually say the better tooling is no longer available. It’s usually been thrown away because of space issues in the factory or broken altogether or even worn down overtime so the sculpt is of very poor quality.

I should imagine CO as the same problems as Hasbro with the old tooling, they could even use the same factories for all I know.
