Will BBC DVD Support issue a replacement disc for this disc specifically (the one containing fear her) as I am sure there will be people who don’t want to watch the original version given the nature of what Hugh Edward’s did, or will it be a place of having to cough up another £50 or so just for this episode ?

I think this might be the case in this situation they might make an announcement to offer replacement discs. But it’s certainly worth asking am sure the BBC will take this into account as would cause a lot of upset for some people. I know because of the Jimmy Seville Sketch A Fix With The Sontarans was just a special feature which is no longer on any future release of The Two Doctors. But I felt they should have offered to replace those who bought the original but that would have to include the cover as well but I think because this was just a special feature people could choose whether to watch the special feature or not. Fear Her is an episode and has been released several times on both DVD and Blu-ray so there is a point for this one so they might take all this into account by asking what version people own so they match the artwork of the disc that needs replacing, they will be thousands of people out there that own the originals so even if they do you might have to be patient if they do make the statement of offering disc replacements it would take them some time to replace them all. But then again it might not happen as the original is already out there and only effects any future release on any media platform for legal reasons.

Personally I’d rather they didn’t simply edit out things. Same with the commentaries or bits of Confidential.

For this one I’d rather they’d fixed the sound issues with The Next Doctor.

Imagine if they decided to remove the series from sale due to Noel Clarke and John Barrowman.

There should simply be a warning at the start for those who need one.

Difference is, Daz, neither Clarke or Barrowman have been convicted of any offence. Edwards was

I do think with how big the news was and the impact the Huw Edwards situation was I can see the necessity of replacing him. It’s a minor replaceable voiceover that numerous people could easily replace and if you were uninformed of him being in it that you wouldn’t notice the difference. Vastly different situation to say Bruno Langley that got tried and convicted of 2 counts of sexual assault as cutting out his appearance would make the episodes unwatchable.

I doubt there will be a replacement as unlike the previous replacement it’s not technically an error. It’s a shame next doctor never got fixed.

I’m guessing this relates to the new batch of S1-4 Blu-Rays, which were in the offer. Shame they can’t fix the other sound issues (e.g. Next Doctor).

Series 2 episode has now been dubbed with the voice of actress Becky Wright. Who has previously worked on the Doctor Who podcast.

Yeah no change to the story just that Edwards has been dubbed out. It’s back on BBC iPlayer as well.
