Paint Your Own Pottery Doctor Who Tardis

Paint Your Own Pottery Tardis

This is one piece of Doctor Who merchandise that you wont generally find in the shops.

The Paint your own Tardis is fully licensed pottery replica or “Bisque” of one of the most iconic items from Doctor Who. Each item comes with a certificate of authenticity.

These have been available for a few months but as they are not a retail product you may now know about them.

So what’s the idea?

Many towns now have paint your own pottery studio or café’s (you will need to check that they stock these items) where you choose your particular favourite and paint it to your own design. There is generally a fixed charge for each item which includes paint and studio time. You then leave you finished piece which is then “fired” and picked a few days later. You now have your own unique glazed creation.

Most studios can cater for individuals without prior booking however if you wish to hold a “paint party” (what a great way to celebrate a birthday with your fellow fans) you will need to pre book. Some studios even cater for food or if big enough, in home or at work events.

The Tardis as supplied with its certificate. You also get the St Johns sticker, door plaque and police box sign (only one) to apply to your finished product…

The one below has been sprayed
by ourselves with acrylic paint and the supplied decals have then been added – I wasn’t brave enough to attempt the window surrounds just yet but it still looks very smart as it is. I have no doubt it would look even better properly gazed as is the intention with these moulds…

The Tardis is one of three items currently available, the other two being a Dalek coin bank and pen Holder, each one is supplied with an eye, gun and plunger (not shown) to fit after painting…

I go to the Mud Hut in Olney, Md. which is a paint your own bisque and they’ll fire it for you after to buy the pieces. Would the TARDIS and the Daleks be safe in a kiln using their paint or would they shatter. Could someone answer this question

    These are bisque..
So you must paint them I’m special glazes and fire them in a kiln. You will not findbthem in store but from bisque distributors for painting in a studio..and usually you have to buy in bulk…I must talk my boss into getting these for our shop.
