Booboo do you imagine we’ll ever see more of the revised sculpt Dalek Sec? Recently we’ve seen more of the yesteryear figures as it were pop up for sale, rose and K9, Sarah Jane and K9, Captain Jack etc, I wonder if any more Dalek Sec figures will become available? Seemed very rare the first time around

probably not that one as they never got to the UK much to everyone’s annoyance at the time but bound to be in a B&M set at some stage i would think.

Thinks its said that mould would be used on all NDS releases from now on

Would love to see a b and m 2 pack of the revised sculpt dalek sec and Dalek thay, even a revised 4 pack of the cult of skaro from doomsday where thay still has the back panels, would not be any expensive new tooling for them and surely an easy cash grab as it would be very popular

I think we’d probably just get the cult over two History of the Daleks sets: Sec and Jast in the Doomsday set, Thay (with removed back panels?) and Caan (with injector arm?) in the Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks set.

I’ve always wanted to see that Injector arm as a variant.

I do think an Evolution of the Daleks set needs some sort of variation to it outside the ID tags, otherwise it’d just be two identical Daleks. An injector arm, like the one seen in that story, seems quite achievable given the Mutant Scoop, and would likely more achievable than giving Thay the back panel damage, though having it alongside a back panel damaged Thay would be ideal.

The idea of NuWho based HOTD sets does interest me, because there’s definitely some interesting variations that could be done. Resolution only features the one Dalek design, for instance, so how do you deal with that? Same thing with Dalek (though the Dalek in that has two different looks, damaged and undamaged, so they could do both for that set). And then there’s the question of how they can make each set be distinct from the others, when many Dalek stories just have the same look Bronze Dalek props.

I think that, if they ever do NuWho history sets, they’d be extremely interesting and yield many interesting variants.

I don’t believe they would do a History set for Resolution, they’d just skip it like they did Frontier In Space. Not only does Resolution have 1 Dalek but it is still available to purchase as a single figure. I imagine it still will be by that time. I think they’d just go straight to Revolution of the Daleks. I also don’t think they would release 2 versions of the same Dalek in the same set (not same figure, I mean the same character).

Has there been any more word on additional B&M sets to be released this year? There was the “leaked” news or rumors earlier but no additional word since then.

Well, that went quickly! Nice for people to be able to pick it up, but I wasn’t tempted myself as it was £34.99 + £5 postage and I had got it at the original £19.99 price in my local B&M in 2020.
This shows the kind of prices we would be needing to pay if these were sold through Forbidden Planet and not the budget B&M.

They probably had to pay close to original price hence the mark up.

This is nothing to do with Character. If it’s old B&M stock going to FP then that’s been done between the parties involved.

      No…

They were offered this stock last month from a 3rd party reseller who, I’d imagine, deal direct with Character.

Third party reseller? That’s what a scalper is!

Will this be stock that has been found somewhere?
I can understand the Rose and K9 set as Amazon have had this listed for a while from a 3rd party company.
I’m surprised to see the 2nd Dr & TARDIS set tho. Thought they sold out at B&M

Hmm, depends on packaging. Are the Rose & K-9 sets that old stock made for Underground Toys’ last run for GameStop? (Narrow Clamshell pack)

I fear there’s still more of that gathering dust somewhere along with SJS/K-9’s and Dalek Secs too.

in the UK they were toys r us stock, the Tardis was most likely cancelled USA orders like the other sets

I noticed some old stock on ebay and one or 2 retailers appearing over the last year or so.
