‘How far, Doctor? How long have you lived?’

The Doctor has inhabited uncounted personas. Forgotten Lives introduced us to eight of these, glimpsed long ago during a psychic deathmatch with a re-embodied tyrant. A scholar, a detective, an inventor, an adventurer, a statesman, a trickster, a warrior, a showman — each one of them, at hearts, the Doctor we already knew.

Now, those Doctors return, in sixteen stellar stories from their original authors and newcomers, building on all we learned about them before.

Eight men, eight pasts. Eight forgotten lives…

Hello! I wanted to ask the status of this book, I understand it doesn’t bear the BBC stamp, but is it still official? I mean if the publisher has rights to characters in the series through some copyright or if it is an unofficial novel. Excuse my English, I speak in Spanish, but I am curious. I thank anyone who can clear me up

It’s an unofficial charity publication that is using the morbius doctors. The quality of obverse books is very high and the first book was a great read.

Also, it’s not just Obverse Books who have created spin-offs using Doctor Who characters like this. Video and audio productions with Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant; pre-Big Finish audios with Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Lalla Ward and John Leeson; unofficial books like Campaign; Faction Paradox audios and books…. that’s just what springs to mind.

It’s official if you want it to be. The choice is yours really. For me it’s perfectly acceptable to count these as canon.
