10 and amy look a bit like dapol figures, the 1s at the toy fair were much better and usually the actual item is much better than the toy fair prototypes

That 12th Doctor figure on the right looks nothing like Capaldi.

I wish Character Toys would go back to making the 5″ range instead of just having 5″ special releases every now andd then…

Yeh but really all of them look like 5″ figures until they’re in your hand and very small

    • ThePixelatedDalek

      July 27th, 2014 - 12:10am

Maybe it is a 5″ figure? I hope it is! The detail is far too good for it to be a 3.75″ figure! The one to the right will probably be the 3.75″ one and the one on the left the 5″ one!

  • Doctor Stu

    July 26th, 2014 - 11:10pm

Maybe there’s a whole toy story scenario going on and the capaldi figure has moved the jacket itself, been photographed and the retailers just can’t put their fingers on what has happened. It’s the new premise for toy story 4 I’m telling you.

I don’t think it’s an official TARDIS, I think somebody mentioned earlier that it was a different piece of merchandise but was just compatible with the 3.75″ figures

It’s the die cast Tardis from scificollector dot co dot uk. They’re still available on the website or from the stamp shop on the Strand in London.

7.30am went to Argos online – Site still not updated. Shot up the end of town & into Argos at 9.00am – New ‘tiny’ catalogue had NO Doctor Who listed in it at all, apart from a picture of the previous Sonic Wave. Went to their Computer Terminal & checked, only listings available were for TATM Set & new Wave 3A. Went to counter & got TATM Set with 10th, Amy & Genesis Dalek the only stuff they had in stock. Managed to Order the Asylum Dalek from that store & shot to other end of town to pick it up. Today’s mission successfully completed…

He just looks so sad. That’s the kind of expression a puppy makes when it’s taken from it’s mother to be raised by a family. For goodness sake, can somebody lighten that face up. Draw a smiley face on it, show it a video of a fat kid falling over. Anything, just as long as it cheers up a bit.

    • booboo

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:52pm

well of course if someone wanted to tell us we could correct it here and now and make it clear to the 5000+ visitors to this page since yesterday what’s happening – they choose not to and thats up to them

there is nothing worse than showing pictures of something at retail level that people are never going to be able to buy

    • the astronaut of death

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:55pm

and what I don’t get is al on twitter said they were not able to do the red lining when there is an image here right now proofing it

I think they are going to be very unhappy people when they go to get it and compare it to the catologe picture

    • booboo

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:57pm

the problem is these catalogues are put together way in advance infact these figures were have bought today were made all the way back in April

sometimes you have to use promo images that you have and run the risk that things may not work out

    • alexanderop

      July 26th, 2014 - 10:10pm

they tried it out as a prototype just to see what it looked like I think, but didn’t like what they ended up with, because it looked strange in different poses?
I don’t those 12th Doctor figures have any articulation at all, those arm swivels are probably just where the arms were attached.

well first someone on twitter said it was the one on the right

but on the back of the packaging it is an image of the figure with red lining and the head sculpt from the right figure

      so it is very confusing

I think the new head sculpt is going to be for all Capaldi figures, well that would be the red lining coat figure and the closed jacket figure. And that the one with his old head sculpt and the red lining is just a mockup?

    • alexanderop

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:44pm

we are getting the non red lining figure then I think that could get someone into trouble, being it’s advertised both on the site AND in the catalog.

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:49pm

many years ago i knew a camera manufacture that had to have 1000.s of cases made at their own cost because the one they supplied with the stock was not the same as the on in the promo images they had sent Argos which ended up in the catalogue

    • alexanderop

      July 26th, 2014 - 10:14pm

So, if that is true then the Capaldi figure should come out after DW premieres on the Saturday. Which I suppose is fitting, seeing how that Time Crash set and the Sonic was available straight after Matt Smiths premiere episode on the Monday. What if they decide now to make a Capaldi two pack of the variants? That would be really cool, I would like to get a red lining and closed jacket variant.

Also sorry for all my speculation comments Booboo, I know you must be pretty frustrated at all this.

Online you’d just get whatever was available so you’d be ordering a figure from the wave but you wouldn’t know which one it was. If you ordered two figures though I think you would get two different ones but don’t quote me on that

      July 26th, 2014 - 8:52pm

The new sets are a slot easier to assemble, the popper pegs stay in place and lock this time around, and the pieces aren’t strained so stay together once assembled rather than coming apart when moved.

    • TheWarDoctor

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:03pm

I couldnt get the tardis in the actual main card piece was bent on both sets so wouldnt put the tardis in. Clips were bad tbh

    • 100000BC

      July 26th, 2014 - 9:39pm

I have the Dalek Invasion and Cold War sets, and they are very fiddly! You need four arms to do all four pairs of poppers at once and then leave the set in exactly the same place forever otherwise the poppers pop out. I’ve lost one popper from the Dalek set…

  • the astronaut of death

    July 26th, 2014 - 8:23pm

I found the dalek patrol ship a very good toy well worth £20 not only is it a good toy it is also a good collectors piece . I found this figure very simple to put together and the gun a good feature . the dalek figure looks amazing but when I first got this set I was shocked to see how small the dalek was as I have never got a 3.75 figure before the but I did find the packaging a bit hard to get out . the toy it self is rather in accurate into how it actually looks in doctor who but the amazing look of the toy makes up for that. 9/10

I was a bit like that when I brought the ice warrior in the first wave, I was shocked at how small it was but when I got used to the collection and the 3.75 Daleks and realised how useful they were and how much space they allowed I couldn’t imagine how the figures were ever 5″

I find the tenth doctor an amazing figure for the 3.75 inch range it is definitely one of the best human 3,75 figures that have been released I think the face sculpt really captures how the tenth doctor looked in the 50th unlike some past 3.75 figures. not mentioning any names ( 11th doctor 3.75 figure)I also found the clothes very detailed with good detail to cresses and shape the only bad think about this figure is a think the hands are a bit off a difficult sculpt to fit the screwdriver in but over all brilliant figure 9/10
