Master Replicas to Continue Doctor Who Figurine Collection

Master Replicas brings back Doctor Who statue line

The collection will include 1:21 and 1:6 scale statues, TARDIS consoles and vehicles based on 60 years of Doctor Who, through a licence deal with BBC Studios.

Master Replicas has announced that it has acquired the rights to continue the Doctor Who Figurine Collection, one of the longest-running and most successful Doctor Who collections ever released.

To date, the collection has featured statues from every era of Doctor Who, allowing fans to bring 370 unique characters into their homes. It was left unfinished when the previous rights holder, Eaglemoss, went into administration in 2022. Master Replicas’ new production will fit seamlessly with the original statues and will include new releases of some of the most popular characters from the Whoniverse, including Daleks and Cybermen.

As before, the statues will be carefully researched by combing through the BBC archives and studying the episodes. They are then digitally sculpted before being cast in polyresin and painted by hand. The collection also includes a line of Mega statues that stand between 20 cm and 34 cm tall and a series of TARDIS consoles. Additionally, work had begun on a series of vehicles.

Darren Epstein from Heathside Trading, which owns Master Replicas, commented: “This is a very exciting time for Doctor Who and we’re very happy that we’re able to bring this collection back. The range of statues is incredible. We couldn’t be happier to continue the work and will be bringing the same level of research and attention to detail to the series. We’re particularly excited to bring the vehicles to life, starting with the Dalek Saucer from The Parting of the Ways.”

Work is underway and the collection will return in 2024.

Master Replicas is a division of Heathside Trading a leading manufacturer and wholesaler of pop culture consumer products based in the UK. The division gives the companythe ability to target a direct-to-consumer customer. Heathside and its QMx and Khadou brands work and acquire IP for development of product across TV, manga, anime, film, gaming and associated entertainment platforms.

I’m thinking of paying the £89 annual membership for exclusive figurines etc but I’ve read so many negative comments. Anyone shed light on whether it’s worth it?

The problem is they have not made it clear if its 2-4 exclusives on Just Doctor Who or across all franchises, guess is it will be all.

That means its £90 for the privilege of just getting the 4th Doctor Tardis this year and we do not know how much other stuff will be released over the next 12 months, you may never get your £90 worth if you only collect Doctor Who because that’s an average of £75 a month to get that back.

Despite asking sadly there is no communication from this company so we dont know anymore that what they are saying on SM.

I should save your money until the new year and there is more news.
Wait for those Doctor who drops.

From what I’ve seen they are offering 60+ normal figures over the course of the year with 3 exclusive figures from Stargate, The Expanse, and Doctor Who as the membership exclusive figures for 2024.

I’m thinking of going for it as well and just giving any non-Who related stuff to my best friend. I’ve never bought from Master Replicas before so no idea what their customer service or delivery success rate is but I’m willing to give it a try.

Hi Basil. You say you are thinking of joining an ‘just giving any non-Who related stuff to (your) best friend,’ but you won’t actually receive and products – (for example) the Stargate or Expanse club exclusives – unless you place an order for them once they become available – and pay for them. The £89 annual membership fee doesn’t mean you have bought-and-paid for any of the Club exclusives. You’ve just bought the right to go on to buy them. I have joined, in a similar ‘I’ll give it a go and see’ basis. But I admit it is a risk at the moment because as Booboo says, they haven’t revealed much information about their plans yet to help make an informed, roughly quantified decision as to whether you’ll order enough to get your money’s worth. I think MR are expecting people to see a value in, to want and to be willing for a good chunk of their membership money to be for attending the six online events across the year. [First one announced is with the Picard show-runner, which I’m personally very up for – date TBC]. I don’t think they are necessarily anticipating people to expect to make ALL their £89 back in 10% discounts, unless you order a heck of a lot (and likely more than just Who). So I think the club (what little we know of it yet) is probably going to best suit fans of multiple franchises, who are into behind-the-scenes stuff about those shows, and (I guess?) some behind the scenes insight about ship/prop/maybe product designs come about, and really really want to get their hands on a few of those exclusives. If people are just coming with the mindset to make savings in excess of the annual fee, I think there’ll be disappointment. I reckon people’s mileages are really going to differ on this.

NB one other bit of news they did put out on social media about a week ago (in answer to someone’s question): they anticipate releasing ONE club exclusive product PER franchise PER membership year – so it looks like for 2024 it will be one Expanse product, one Stargate product, one Who product (The Fourth Doctor’s Tardis) plus one exclusive for each of a few other franchises they have picked up licenses for – some of them, they say, still to be announced. So it *looks* like that Fourth Doctor Tardis might be the only club-members-only release for the year (with a bunch – how many TBC – of other DW figurines, mega and ships also coming out and available to everyone to order). And remember, your £89 hasn’t bought you one and you won’t just receive it – it’s bought you, in effect a privileged ‘pass’ through the firewall they are putting these exclusives behind – kind of like an invitation to an exclusive opportunity-to-buy.

oh! I’d missed this… great news indeed!

I just hope that the new episodes haven’t further wrecked any enthusiasm I and others have for this… though I fear that could be the case. There are still a lot of characters from my favorite eras like 4th, 11th, and 12th I’d love to have , at the very least. (Especially Clara and Nardole and 11th Console).

I wonder if they’ll resurrect models planned for the original Eaglemoss range. Saw some sample pages of the book “Flying off the Shelves”, one of which showed a model of a 1967 Macra which I wouldn’t mind getting.

Glad to hear the range is continuing. I have only been collecting the TARDIS Consoles and would love to see the full range of them released as they are incredibly detailed. Hopefully we may see a reissue of the first Console they released, the 4th Doctor Console, as I missed it first time round.

Fantastic news for Dr Who figurine collectors!
Though I didn’t buy every piece made by Eaglemoss I did gladly pick up a lot of classic favorites, consoles, and Tardis sets.
There are a good 20+ classic figurines I could name that need to be made but here are my top 5 wants.

    The White Guardian
    Galifreyan Guardsman
    A State of Decay set
    Horror at Fang Rock set
    The Watcher

Would also love a deluxe version of the Domed capital City of Gallifrey.

I also hope to see them release more of 210-220 since those were hard to come by. I still need Santa and the Black Guardian.

    Very exciting

It’s so exciting to imagine what lines they will continue that Eaglemoss had planned to do. Will we get the TARDIS exteriors that was started? Will we get the Story sets like Image of the Fendahl? Will we get variants of figurines already made?

I’m literally buzzing to see what Master Replicas have done with this wonderful collection. It’ll be interesting to see what strengths they’ve taken from the original collection and what unique tweaks they have made of their own to embellish it. I’m looking forward to the specials and mega figurines as well but mainly just the standard figurine collection overall.

In case you missed it, the Image of the Fendahl set already came out. Scificollector managed to get ahold of them from the Chinese warehouses, and released them a few months back. It wasn’t cheap, though. 80 pounds. They still have them for sale.

Beyond excited that my favourite line is coming back. It’s been hints and rumours for months so brilliant we finally have the official confirmation.

Can’t wait to see what plans Master Replicas have in store. Fantastic they are expanding to include ships and vehicles but more so to see what ‘gaps’ will be filled that Eaglemoss had planned or didn’t get around to.

Roll on 2024 and those Fifteenth Doctor figurines!
