Lovarzi Official Sherlock Blue Striped Scarf with 221B Woven
Three new products from Lovarzi, the UK’s leading online scarf retailer, are to be released across November and December to celebrate one of the BBC’s biggest critically-acclaimed shows, Sherlock.
With a history reaching back to 1887, Sherlock Holmes and his ever-loyal assistant, Dr John Watson are icons of detective fiction. In their latest incarnation in the hit BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, they’ve faced an underground terrorist network, the Woman who advises the Great Detective to know when he is beaten, and of course, Moriarty.
And it’s this criminal mastermind who seemingly planned out Sherlock’s ‘death’: the fall from the roof of St. Bart’s. Inspired by the scarf worn by Sherlock in The Reichenbach Fall and The Empty Hearse, our exclusively-designed scarf comes in a black gift box, and is finished off with another snippet of London iconography: 221B.

“It’s got flaps – ear flaps. It’s an ear hat, John!” The detective doesn’t seem to like that iconic deerstalker much; instead his impeccable sense of style is topped off with a series of scarves – he even puts one on when Lestrade and Donovan come to arrest him in the final episode of Series 2! That’s why Lovarzi’s new range, in partnership with BBC Worldwide, is ideal for fans of the Reichenbach Hero.
The pure wool scarf is decorated with two notable designs embroidered at each end: 221B has remained synonymous with the character since Arthur Conan Doyle’s original books; while the smiley on the tail-end represents the latest incarnations’ rebellious nature. The smiley graffiti adorns the living room at Baker Street – but took a bashing from the bored detective in The Great Game. Measuring 25x 170cm, it’s made from 100% wool.

Alluding to the stylish wallpaper patterns of the Holmes-Watson residence, the Jacquard Woven Scarf is a wool and modal mix, 35x 180cm. Just in case someone is unsure of your allegiance to Sherlock, 221B is a repeated presence in the ornamental design.
Finally, inspired by the scarf Sherlock wore for his ‘death’ in The Reichenbach Fall and its rebuttal in The Empty Hearse, the Striped Scarf with 221B Woven is a sleek and subtle way of stating, ‘I believe in Sherlock Holmes.’ At 38x 190cm, it’s a great fit no matter your age, and is made from finest quality cotton and modal. The scarves all capture the show’s style and elegance, proudly displaying the series’ iconography, and are presented in black gift boxes, making each perfect as presents and for collectors.
Maninder Singh Sahota, Director of Lovarzi, says: “Sherlock is one of the greatest shows in recent history, its lead character instantly recognisable, legendary, and much loved. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the BBC to create these items for the everincreasing pool of devotees to the Great Detective.”
Based on Conan Doyle’s excellent novels and short story collections, the BBC One series debuted in 2010 starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Written by Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Stephen Thompson, it was an immediate success and has regularly attracted between 8 and 12 million viewers. Its third season became the most watched BBC drama in over a decade.
The show will return next year for a Christmas special. Lovarzi, meanwhile, is best-known for its range of Doctor Who products – including Fourth Doctor Scarf, Fifth Doctor Sweater, and TARDIS Scarf – but was set up in 2007 and named the Top Christmas Seller on Amazon UK for 2010. Since then, they’ve also worked with the Imperial War Museum to create a range of scarves to honour the First World War The Sherlock 221B Jacquard Woven Scarf is available to order now from www.lovarzi.co.uk , www.amazon.co.uk , BBC Shop and Forbidden Planet. The Sherlock Wool Scarf with Graffiti Smiley and Striped Scarf with 221B Woven will be available in November end.
In the hit BBC series, Holmes and Watson may litter their flat with periodicals, scientific equipment, and the odd skull (nicknamed Billy), but landlady-not-housekeeper Mrs Hudson gave it a touch of class with the sleek wallpaper which has inspired our exclusively-designed scarf.
Complete with a black gift box, 221B is also a repeated presence in this ornamental-style Sherlock scarf

DOCTOR WHO ONE
December 17th, 2014 - 7:31amWhy is this being featured ?? it’s got absolutely nothing to do with Doctor Who.
Yes I know Steven Moffat does that show as well, and yes I know Mark Gatiss plays a character in it from what I know of the show but don’t watch as I am no fan of any version of Sherlock Holmes, but still, this is not Doctor Who related, and quite obviously should therefore not be here.
Put it this way, it would seem pretty weird seeing merchandise for a TV series like ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ on a website all about ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ . . . . ya get what I mean 😉

December 17th, 2014 - 8:57amwe work closely with some Doctor Who manufactures who sometimes ask us to feature some of their other items which we are quite happy to do

December 12th, 2014 - 9:47pmNot that I would buy it, but the 221b REALLY lowers the quality of it as a replica. I see no need for it, really. But, nonetheless, the rest of the scarf looks nice.
