Let the Daleks hold you captive!

This December, AudioGO have six exciting Doctor Who adventures available for the first time as audio downloads read by a host of famous stars including Peter Purves and William Russell with Nick Briggs as the terrifying voice of the Daleks.

Doctor Who and the Daleks

The mysterious Doctor and his granddaughter Susan are joined by unwilling adventurers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright in an epic struggle for survival on an alien planet.

In a vast metal city they discover the survivors of a terrible nuclear war – the Daleks. Held captive in the deepest levels of the city, can the Doctor and his new companions stop the Daleks’ plan to totally exterminate their mortal enemies, the peace-loving Thals? More importantly, even if they can escape from the Daleks, will Ian and Barbara ever see their home planet Earth again?

This novelization is based on the second Doctor Who story which was originally broadcast from 21 December 1963-1 February 1964. Featuring the First Doctor as played by William Hartnell, and his companions Susan, Ian and Barbara.

Doctor Who and the Dalek Invasion of Earth

The TARDIS lands in London – a holocaust city of fear and devastation… a city now ruled by Daleks.

The Doctor and his companions join a handful of survivors, underground resistance workers. Together they launch an unsuccessful attack on the Dalek spaceship. Forced to flee the city they find themselves on a perilous journey through England until they reach the secret centre of Dalek operations… and the mysterious reason for the Dalek invasion of Earth!

William Russell, who played the Doctor’s companion Ian in the original TV serial, reads Terrance Dicks’ complete and unabridged novelisation, with specially composed music and sound and Dalek voices by Nicholas Briggs.

Doctor Who: Daleks – The Chase

An execution squad of Daleks is about to leave Skaro – their mission: to find the TARDIS and destroy the Doctor and his companions. Using a Space-Time Visualiser, the Doctor and his companions discover the Dalek’s plan. On the barren planet Aridius they elude the Daleks and escape in the TARDIS. An epic journey through time and space ensues as they try to shake off their pursuers. But Daleks never give up easily, and the hunt becomes a chase to the death….

Maureen O’Brien, who played Vicki in the original Doctor Who TV serial, reads John Peel’s complete and unabridged novelisation, first published by Target Books in 1989.

Doctor Who: Daleks – Mission to the Unknown

Stumbling through the hostile jungles of Kemble, the harshest planet in the galaxy, Space Security Agent Marc Cory discovers a deadly plot is being hatched: the invasion and destruction of the Universe by the Daleks. Cory must warn Earth before it’s too late. Except the Daleks find him first…

Arriving on Kemble months later, the Doctor and his companions find Cory’s message. But the Dalak’s Master Plan is already in progress. Is it now too late to save Earth?

Peter Purves and Jean Marsh read this exciting novelisation of a classic Doctor Who adventure, with Dalek voices by Nicholas Briggs. This is the first of two novelisations written by John Peel and based on the TV serial The Daleks’ Masterplan. The second, Daleks: The Mutation of Time, is also available from AudioGO.

Doctor Who: Daleks – The Mutation of Time

The Time Destroyer: the most deadly machine ever devised. With it the Daleks will conquer the Universe. Only one person stands in their way – the Doctor. He has stolen the precious Taranium core which is vital to activate the machine. Terrified of being tracked by the Daleks, the Doctor and his companions keep moving through Time and Space, but after several months, a shock awaits: the TARDIS indicates they are being followed…

The future of the galaxy hangs in the balance. Battles are raging across countless solar systems as the Daleks mercilessly expand their empire. Earth’s forces are doing everything they can to resist. On board a starship near the frontline, the Doctor is stranded with a group of ruthless bounty hunters. Earth Command will pay handsomely for every Dalek they kill and each eye stalk they bring back as proof. So when a Dalek is taken prisoner everyone sees it as the ultimate prize. I would have thought ‘Prisoner of the Daleks’ would have been read by David Tennant, seeing as it is a 10th Doctor story.
