First Look at Big Chief Studios 9th Doctor Figure

Established in 2011, BIG Chief Studios Ltd. was founded by Mark Andrews and Tony Leetham, industry professionals with more than thirty years experience working with licensed characters and brands.

Hailing from a creative background, both company directors felt the time was right for them to branch out and form a company that specialised in the manufacture of high-end figures and collectables.

Having successfully acquired the rights to Doctor Who, the longest running sci-fi TV show in the world, BIG Chief proceeded with their next license – Sherlock, the multi-award winning drama starring Benedict Cumberbach and Martin Freeman.

With an expanding team of creative professionals, BIG Chief moved to new more spacious premises in April 2014 and are currently working on new, exciting products to thrill fans and collectors alike.

Great figure… Improving each time… My NuWho Doctor as well… Hoping Big Chief don’t forego future (past) Doctors now they have additional licenses.. It’s great to get some Star Wars pieces (especially usually monthly payments) but I’m here for WHO…..

A great looking figure, what I expect from BCS though, got there other figures and there top quality, although with this one I think the jumper needs to be worked on still, cause 9th jumper was quite near his neck wasn’t it and didn’t show a lot of top of chest, wonder with it being a 1 series doctor as well might we get a couple of jumpers so we have a choice of which for him to wear

Looks good… In buying this one too… I hope they do a little more tweaking just to make it perfect. Also, I hope they tailor the clothes better. These just look a little off.

    I want it! Fantastic!

Booboo, but the Vinyl Figure series will continue with other doctors or it’s limited to the Eleventh and Tenth?

Big Finish’s likenesses are usually top-notch, very closely matching the actor. But this one just blows my mind as to how close it is. I thought it wasn’t possible to get any closer than Matt Smith for the Series 7 Eleventh Doctor, but I was wrong.

Don’t you know that Eccleston does actually have quite large ears? He is known for it.

I could swear that was Mr. Eccleston himself standing there…! (although the clothing does seem a little out of proportion in places)

I think the mouth is a little off and it throws the whole likeness for me. The clothes evidently need some tailoring, but I imagine that headsculpt will be final once approved, which it very likely will be. I suppose it’ll be one of those sculpts which looks perfect at certain angles, it’s a shame that I don’t face-on is one of them.

Looks good, still some work to do with the clothes clearly but quite good all the same.
