All the figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered.

The specially formulated resin and high quality sculpting allow the figurines to reproduce an incredible level of detail right down to the mesh in the Silurian Warrior’s uniform and the controls on Davros’s console.

    Update on the collection

“Ive heard from a reliable ‘ source ‘ that EM will be making an ‘ announcement ‘ on this collection within the next 4 – 6 weeks ……. looks like it’ll go national a lot sooner than expected. Also heard there’s been a few changes re : release order & packaging ; which is going to put the price up on the trial figs.
    Watch this space !”

I hope packaging refers to how subscribers will revive their issues so that they do not arrive damaged.

hope so, i think it will build up into a great collection, the test release seem to only contain “safe” figures.

Got issues 2 and 3 today but the magazine is all bent and creased at the bottom which I am not happy about. Is anybody elses like this.

Typical as customer services replied today to my email saying

    “Dear ,

Thanks for your email. We have just been informed by the publishers that it was indeed a test subscription with the view of it going nationally later this year. We will keep you informed of when that will happen. I do apologise that you were misinformed but that was the information we had at that time.

    Kind regards

    Arlene”

I have emailed customer services about the issue and suggest you do the same, as if enough people contact them, they will have to do something. Mine were bent bottom left and thus crumpled some of the pages. Was not happy.

Surprised to receive iss.2&3 at the weekend. Both magazines had damaged spines,knocked/folder over corners, bottom edge/top edge creased. Iss. 2 had small(1-2mm) tear along the right hand edge. Figures intact, but the individual packaging also damaged (corner of one was split apart). Don’t know if this is due to being sent out in thin plastic cover or they were in less than perfect condition when they were despatched.
Hope the national release is sent out boxed/better protected.

seems to be a common theme

      you got the folder?

one would like to think those who have paid and subscribed will be resent the first issue free of charge when the national release arrives (especially as the order/magazine may have changed by then)

      April 22nd, 2013 - 4:29pm

I hope we get resent all issues when/it goes national.

I emailed customer service (about my bent magazines due to way its packaged) with pictures attached as proof, asking if there is anything they can do, to stop it happening for future deliveries/the national launch. They replied and are ordering replacements of issues 2/3 (free of charge I hope) and have emailed the warehouse to check the condition before they are sent. If you email them they might do the same.
One solution is to put cardboard inside the issue like issue 5 in the shops.

      April 26th, 2013 - 9:29am

No, no folder or any other items. Not even sure if issues 4 & 5 will follow either.

Considering how popular (profitable to the BBC) Doctor Who is +the forthcoming 50th anniversary +how long Eaglemoss has been producing partworks +how long database factory have been running subscriptions on behalf of publishers.
Surely they should have ironed out any problems like this by now?
Suggestions anyone on how to minimise the chances of damage(subscribers view) but without adding to the postage costs (publishers view)?

I can’t wait until this is released nationwide. I think it’s a great collection to start for those (like myself) who have no figures thus far. Gonna take up the full subscription and get the entire set.

Same, I have no figurines, as was not interested, but these look detailed and are more collectable and series, and not toys that you play with.

there is a code underneath, not sure if its individual

    • Anonymous

      April 13th, 2013 - 2:11pm

It might be different for these, but in their previous collections they were not individually numbered, but all had a randomly generated code placed on their bases to uniquely indentify that figure design (so all the Eleventh Doctors would have the same code for instance, and there would be a different code for the Davros figures).

      April 26th, 2013 - 9:40am

Booboo (or anyone lucky enough to have all 5 figures).
Can you list the numbers on the base of each figure please?
It would be nice to know if the figures are all individually numbered or (more likely) the numbers refer to that particular design/sculpt.

May also prove useful later on when the nationwide release is published – compare back to these test pieces and see if there’s been any changes.

not happy that subscribers have been treated like this were these are concerned, as if Issue 5 is now out and I am still waiting for issue 2 onwards….They better buck their ideas up or I will defiantly not be subscribing when the official run starts!

I am beginning to think that those who subscribed will not get anything and this was all part up the test to see what up-take they would get based on figures sold in the shops.

      April 13th, 2013 - 5:07pm

Daff, I am even waiting for issue 1 as well as the other 4.

If they were not going to honour the subscription I would have driven to Basingstoke every other week to buy it, or I would have asked very nicely people at work who live in Basingstoke.

With DWMI, I was allowed to subscribe to the test set, so was naturally delighted that after waiting 20 minutes on the end of the help line that the let me subscribe.

I even got a subscription letter.

      April 13th, 2013 - 5:58pm

I am thinking its not to test how they sell in shops, but how many people subscribed.

    • Bow Tie wearing Stranger

      April 15th, 2013 - 11:38am

Tried subscribing, received a confirmation that ‘your subscription will start with issue 2″. Never received anything since then either by post or by email.Have sent four emails asking for an update.Even politely asked if they had underestimated how much interest this set of magazines/figures would generate. Not even an acknowledgement.
      Magazine/figure/product levels = high.
Administration by database factory once again = leaves a lot to be desired.
I’m not going to swear – but I think my thoughts are loud enough to be picked up telepathically.
