It came a few days ago, it’s not the best. Ood sigma was perfect I don’t get why this Ood head was painted so poorly in comparison. The translation ball was really sloppy and The Doctors paint application on the face was all over the head piece. Which is way too small compared to the cover. It’s a shame I expected a bit better after the amazing Daleks. (Even though the Strategist was way too big for some reason)

I just don’t think eaglemoss has nailed the face painting yet, at this scale it is super hard.

When the collection started, the face painting was excellent. They used to say how every character was the same size as on screen. So the Doctor and Daleks and Silence, Silurians etc. were all scaled down and on screen accurate in size, proportion, etc. they really hammered home the amount of love and detail that goes into each figurine. It was a passion project and really high quality for their price.

Look at the ninth Doctor, Tenth Doctor, Rassilon, all the Doctors in fact. They’re exceptional. But as the collection has gone on, the accurate scale of some of the monsters seems to have been abandoned. The Mohawk Judoon and some of the Daleks for example. But now the human faces as well aren’t good, the paint applications are sloppy, the special sets outside of the main collection are also never of the same quality. It’s a shame.

I still love the collection, and will still buy everything and the main collection is mostly brilliant. But it does feel like some of those ideals from the very start of the collection have been left behind. Especially in the special releases not part of the main range, they could almost be from a completely different collection at some times. I’m not hating on the collection but some criticism should be allowed as it’s not the same as it used to be.

I’ve just seen this, and this brought me up sharp:

“It was a passion project and really high quality for their price.”

      Was?

I’m fine with criticism, and I promise that I want to know when people think things aren’t up to spec. You won’t find a tougher critic than me.

Very happy with “mostly brilliant” (thank you) but please don’t think we’re not as passionate – I think I’m far more so eight years down the line – about the collection.

Just received my set – not sure about the Doctor’s face. My figurine seems to have an elongated face. Anyone else think this – or have I got a dud version I should return?

Gosh this makes me wish Character Options could get into the fray with some figures of theirs. Few dalek repaints and maybe an Emperor if they feel daring, or try to cobble together Brian and a TLV Tennant for another trio set. If only.

They have a Time lord and they have a Bashed up Tennant. So Character Options need a few tweeks to colourways and some scarf bits. I have no idea why they didnt Do something. Ood sigma can be sorted already.

madness. but I assume Eaglemoss scooped the copyright for images on TLV . Never that keen on the faces of People on Eaglemoss figures.

trying to work out if this is a good buy, to complete the TLV dalek sets, or one too many.

That figure really does emphasise what a ridiculous image that TLV Doctor is… standing in his cosplay robes with Converse sneakers showing.
