Figurine Collection Magazine Issue 213 Santa Claus

Father Christmas himself! Our latest Doctor Who figurine that’s been added to our Doctor Who Figurines Collection. Played by Nick Frost in the 2014 Christmas Special, Santa Claus visited the Twelfth Doctor and Clara while they were trapped in a waking dream created by a swarm of psychic parasites.

According to the Doctor, Santa’s unlikely appearance in their dream world was simply the result of their brains subconsciously alerting them to the danger, encouraging them to recognize the illusion and wake up. Keep an ear out for sleigh bells, though – we’re not so sure…

Yes indeed. A Venom grub. Wouldn’t say no to a Mire beast, or a sixties Macra either.

Just watched logopolis this morning. I,d say john frasers monitor is distinctive enough to warrant a figurine in a logopolis set with The watcher and a shrunken TARDIS. Why wait until the end just for a solitary watcher figurine?

I’m happy I stoped getting these ages ago because it’s silly now with the release of this

Yes Ergon, beyond 215 seems so uncertain. Don’t want to rumour monger but I keep reading stories on the FB page about Eaglemoss being in serious trouble and the collection eventually winding down at 220.

I know there are far more important issues in the world, but collecting these was a small, harmless distraction and it would be sad to see it end so ignominiously. Getting figurines of characters like Styggron has been fantastic! Even if it went to irregular sets and no magazines (or online editions only) I’d be happy to see it go on in some form.

The Santa figure was supposed to be a fun release for last Christmas and in that context, it’s a nice little figurine. Just a pity it has been so delayed.

I try not to pay heed to a lot of groundless comments on the facebook page. It gets quite vitriolic at times as well. I should imagine they are doing their best to untangle the mess they are in and thats 2 figurines in shop so far, so maybe they will backtrack those older issues when they get back in front. The promo figurines for 220-23 are out there now, its whether they can honour it and keep going even if to 230, as there wasn,t really an announcement for it to continue all the way to 250, or at least i never saw it. just through rumours and word of mouth and then theirs the consoles, the next special and the fendahl set.Nothing has been officially stated or otherwise so i remain quietly optimistic come august/september things will start moving again starting with that wretched cleanerbot and perhaps a few regular issues. Never say die doug. I wouldn,t like to think in 6-12 months time you were going to have to fetch the polymer out again to make your own krarg after all.

Yes, as Booboo said some of the figurines have clearly been produced, they’re just not yet getting to the UK…the ‘B-word’ just keeps on giving I suspect!

It can get quite unpleasant on that FB page – I generally just occasionally look in case there’s any good news. I did see an image of the Cleaner Robot in somebody’s collection – it looks huge! Hoping it gets to us fairly soon.

By the way the clay is out again but not for a Krarg. Making a rather left-field larger figurine. May not work but will post images when (if) it is done.

Yes you sid mention you had a few obscure ones lined up..ill keep glancing the collection page when i get a chance. I wish i knew how to transfer patterns onto polymer or if it would work with descal,. (I think thats the word). They need to be speciallly printed. If i could do this, id have a crack at the spoonhead girl but it would prove difficult with all those intricate patterns on the dress. I can understand when neil in the past said they had a hell of a problem with some. I think he was referring to The celestial toymaker and Aces jacket. And they work in resin.

What a waste of a figure. With only seven issues to go, they waste one on this?? A generic Santa figurine? Straight to eBay when we get it next June.

The family of blood would be a great boxset of 4 figurines. Although I doubt the daughter of the family would be able to have the iconic red balloon but she could have that green gun she held when she’s hit the school headteacher. The other 3 figures should be fine
