Figurine Collection Magazine Issue 201 Pandorica Cyberman

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.com

Abandoned beneath Stonehenge, this Cyberman was stationed as a guard for the ultimate prison – the Pandorica. By the time the Eleventh Doctor stumbled upon it, the cyborg’s organic components had decayed into skeletal remains, leaving it in need of replacements… and Amy Pond seemed like the perfect donor.

The ground around Stonehenge was littered with the metal remains of Cyberman guards, destroyed by the local humans – this final guard was ultimately destroyed at the hands (and gladius) of Rory Williams, resurrected as an Auton and a Roman Legionary.

I wish we had more cyberman poses, like the one on the cover, or one doing doing the chest salute, marching, neutral stance, arm outstretched etc

If there anyway to do The Taran Woodbeast please do it. I really like those monsters that are badly thought of. I’d also like to see the Shrivendale, Mire Beast from The Chase and the Magma creature from Caves of Androzani.

It’s not looking hopeful for the TWB, but keep your fingers crossed.

I’m not sure I’d go for this particular figurine but hats off to EM. That is an absolutely *stunning* cover on the magazine.

Any chance of the Terileptil Android or Wheel in Space Servo Robot, EM?

Is it just me or do the wires look better on this than the other Cybus men, not that they look bad or anything, just this one looks better?

I would love to see a good man goes to war variant in their gun holding pose if they do another cybermen variant, would love to see some more original figurines though soon if the collection does end at 220, i.e. tractator, solonian mutt, mind robber clockwork soldier, terileptil android, kraal, foamasi, borad, skovox blitzer, mr sin, seer etc.

There’s lots of figurines I’d love from this story such as Dorium, Headless monks, Strax and Gantok from the series finale.
A companion set of Eleven, Amy Rory and River all woth their eye patches would be great too

I would like to see a larger ratio of monsters classic and new in between Daleks, cybermen and humans /humanoids. This custom makings all well and good but i can,t seem to find the time to make as many as i would like. Fishperson, and mystery other almost done. Then theres the paintwork to contend with. I,d like to compare them, when Eaglemoss release their versions, if at all.
P.s coleman: i,ve tried fimo but find the clay doesnt stay in place as good as premo. I,m talking translucent and effect here. Maybe better for the Harrop-a-likes you make.

Bit off topic but because Neil was mentioned. Any chance of a Q and A session with him to discuss the collection. Not sure if this would be possible or if he would be OK with doing this.

      Hi Ergon,

I know what you mean. I would love to see many more classic monsters in particular, but it may be that there are rights issues ‘behind the scenes’, as it were, we don’t know about.

I have my fingers crossed that the collection will last long enough in some form or other to see most of the monsters and characters new and old released.

Very much hoping we will be able to see that Taran Wood Beast Neil has mentioned at some point!

Still no luck yet with the TWB.

    • Coleman

      May 23rd, 2021 - 11:12am

I’ve only used Fimo, so far ergon, so I’ve nothing to compare it with.
I’ll have to branch out eventually! Got some Milliput though for future projects like I mentioned before.

    • The ergon

      May 23rd, 2021 - 11:19am

Is it rights lssues that you aren,t able do a lot of the classic monsters or that they are difficult for your company to achieve, neil?. They do seem few and far between as opposed to dalek and cyberman etc.

    • Coleman

      May 23rd, 2021 - 12:42pm

I was wondering is it purely a rights issue aswell Neil, or are certain characters proving too difficult to make in such a small scale.
I heard that the krynoid didn’t turnout too well so that idea was scrapped. Is it similar with other monsters aswell?

    • Doug Who

      May 23rd, 2021 - 4:26pm

I’m so pleased you said “yet” with the TWB. Thanks for trying and good luck!

Its one of the real joys of this series seeing the shall we say ‘less well loved’ monsters appear as figurines. The Mandrel and the Nimon are two of my favourites so far. I’d love to see what Eaglemoss could do with the Nucleus…

The one covered with the black tarpaulin and the claw might be easier doug.

    • Doug Who

      May 23rd, 2021 - 8:20pm

Ooh yes…now there’s a possibility for a custom. I quite liked the black blob with the claw…worked better than the macro version I think. A case when perhaps it might have been better to ignore the writers’ description!
