The Doctor Who Figurines Collection part 190 features Ashad, the lone Cyberman from the 2020 Thirteenth Doctor adventure ‘The Haunting of Villa Diodati’.

Fun Fact: this the first figurine to be 1/1 scale to the character it is based on.

The Masters four figure set is now “add to basket”.
Don’t know if it’s another glitch.

Someone on facebook posted that they recieved the Masters set so I don’t think that’s a glitch.

Aren’t the legs how they looked like on the original design (before they changed it to cybus type legs)? I don’t buy these figures but I just wanted to bring it up. One other thing is why is the neck silver? Not complaining though, details on Eaglemoss figures look good in pictures

Yup, which I personally think are more cooler than the upgrade he got in the next episode of CybusLegs and NightmareinSilver Thighs – adds more to the design of being ‘unfinished’

The best Cyberman/monster/villain since Sharaz Jek.
But incredible difficult and ambitious to realise. Needs a figure, but I think too difficult to realise it really is a on screen thing which made 2020 DW so brilliant..

To me the best Cyberman in NewWho is the Patient. Before full conversion.

This is the only cyberman I’ve ever found disturbing! Great addition to a great series.

the patients were Very creepy and unnerving. The scariest the cybermen have been since the series came back. I hated that syncronised stomp stomp of the new series versions. The cybermen should beable to sneak up from behind and make you jump or at the very least make a grand entrance.

Have to admit I didn’t find the patients scary. Great design, but not scary.

Thats your perspective. There are enemies that are often described as scary but there will always be some that are unmoved but admire the overall style of the monster. I love The Weeping Angels they are often in the upper echelons in the scariest polls and i,ve enjoyed most of their appearances but don,t scare me.I can honestly say there are just over an handful of Who stories and scenes that unnerved me as a kid and they were all from the 1970s. Not just Who either, the public information films( ‘I am the spirit of lonely water’) Armchair Thrillers ‘As quiet as a nun’, the flying ghostfaces in the arena from logans run, Children of the stones, the witch from Lizzie dripping, sky (by Bob Baker and dave Martin) Garry glitters evil stare to name just a few.

This is a great figure and a great character in the new series.
Think the writers could have done a lot more with him. Bit of a missed opportunity.
Oh got to say how interesting on this thread we can go from Cybermen to Garry Glitter.

Well glitter proved to be a monster in his own right. There was just something that freaked me out about him as a kid and not just the stare. Though better lay that to rest and Good Riddance to him.

Like this figurine very much – a really good release – good paintwork and pose. What’s really interesting about the cybermen, they look really good all shiny and metallic, but they also look really good when they’ve been beaten up and distressed like the Ashad character. I was disappointed the way this character was dispensed with so quickly, I think he had a lot more to offer the show as an opponent to the Doctor – maybe just maybe he’ll return somehow.

I always thought he’d ran his course, and didn’t really mind how he was killed. He wasn’t the big bad villain, or someone who would be set to return time and time again, he was merely just a vehicle to get us to the plot point of the cybermen returning and Gallifrey/ the master etc. so he’d done his job and when he died it was time for him to go.

I really hope CO decide to release their own Lone Cyberman if they do another new wave like they did last year with S11.

They could have painted the artificial scars on the face for finishing touches. Other than that its very good.

Notice the change in logo from this issue onwards, they must’ve been told to make it yellow/orange as opposed to the usual white/black. Don’t think it goes as well personally, but no big deal.

A number of preorder figures have gone on special offer at Eaglemoss today e.g. the reaper, couple of the time lord victorious sets etc. A bit annoying for those of us who have already pre ordered.

I miss the group shots of forthcoming figurines that Neil used to post every now and again… There’d be those you knew were coming plus a few surprises…
I’m imaging a group with Ashad, Melkur, the Toymaker, the Fugitive Doctor, TLV Daleks, Missy, Rassilon… plus the Borad, the Gravis and one of the Argolin… 😉

I’m with you on the revolution Dalek. Although I am old school Who I think the new design is good. Hope we get a 13” CO remote control version and 5” figure.

      November 30th, 2020 - 6:35pm

      Deffo 5″.

If they did a remote control one that lit up with the red lights as seen in the trailer I could be tempted. Although, having the remote controlled bronze dalek and K9 I have no room.

Even if they’re working on it right now and I believe they are, I wouldn’t expect the new Dalek to appear before issue 195

I had a feeling this would be announced but are we getting those battle ready guards and those converted cyber timelords sometime before the 200th issue?

I reckon we might see one of those two before 200 and then maybe the other between 201 and 220 (the latest ‘end’ issue, unless it gets extended again)?
