Figurine Collection Magazine 9th – 10th Doctors Console #9

Available to order while stocks last via scificollector from www.ebay.co.uk

Expand your collection of iconic consoles with the Doctor Who TARDIS Console Model used by the Ninth and Tenth Doctor.

After an absence of almost a decade, Doctor Who and the new Ninth and Tenth Doctor’s TARDIS Console Model made its grand return to TV screens in 2005, with Christopher Eccleston stepping into the iconic role s the Ninth Doctor! A new look for the Doctor meant a new look for the TARDIS console model for the Ninth and Tenth Doctor – a brassy, bio-organic ‘coral’ theme that served to introduce a whole new generation of fans to everyone’s favourite time machine!

The alien interior of the Ninth and Tenth Doctor’s TARDIS Console Model was dimly lit by the watery glow of its central console. Although it was inherited by the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, it didn’t survive his own violent regeneration. Perhaps it was for the best – the Eleventh Doctor considered it a bit ‘grungey’…

The Doctor’ Who TARDIS Console Model: Ninth and Tenth Doctor carefully recreates this iconic edition of the TARDIS. Every button, switch, and panel is replicated in carefully hand-painted resin. Plus, enjoy an accompanying magazine detailing the console’s place in Doctor Who history.

Product features:

• Height: 16 cm
• Made in Hand-Painted Resin
• Screen-accurate, produced in 1:21 scale
• Features incredible detail
• A great gift for all Doctor Who fans

If you love Doctor Who, you won’t want to miss the rest of the Doctor Who Figurine Collection. Packed with a variety of highly detailed figurines, such as the Doctor’ Who TARDIS Console Model: Ninth and Tenth Doctor, you won’t want to miss out on this collection!

WowHD are offering this console for sale on their web-site, due for release on 20 January 2023. I have never come across this company but I have decided to ‘take a punt’ and pre-ordered one of the consoles.

I will let you know how I get on.

WowHD are decent, they’ve been selling discs for a long time. Your worst case scenario is a quick refund if they can’t supply.

Thanks for your advice, Rex. The model has yet to appear: the delivery date keeps getting put back. I had hoped that they had secured some Eaglemoss bankrupt stock, but this seems ever more unlikely.

I promised I’d let you know how I got on.

Ultimately I cancelled my order with WowHD and got my money back after I bought the console at the launch of the new St Albans Scificollector store on 18 February.

So what is actually happening with this collection as the delays are becoming a joke it’s the same lame excuse delays because of rona and shipping issues. I like many enjoyed this collection when its was regular as clockwork but it now only a few issue’s every three or four months. Hopefully, the BBC should revoke does not extend the licence to produce these products.

The delays are an issue admittedly, but revoke the licence? This collection is the only chance of seeing as complete a range as possible even if some products are delayed.

      Once its gone its gone.

Latest update I’ve received (via Twitter) from Hero Collector / Eaglemoss is that this console (and the Mondasian Cyberman) are postponed, with no expected release date available. Ho-hum!

These come from China not the EU, its all down to Covid, instant Chinese lockdowns and shipping logistics.

These delays are not exclusive the figurine collection either.

Surely it’s time for eaglemoss to look at other companies closer to home to produce this figures as the delays getting them from China is beyond a joke regular issues we should have 26 a year but we are getting about twelve meaning inside of 2 a month it’s 2 every three months.

Every country and many companies rely on China far too much due to it being cheaper in regards to many products, not just toys and figurines.

If they did start producing them more ‘locally’ then the sale price would rise considerably as labour costs would be more ethical.

Shouldn’t be too long for the console now though as the Publish date was changed to June on the website a while back.

Just terrible… why do they bother? Did they even bother? Many controls missing and those present are largely unpainted, those controls which are painted are not the right colours, the fins on the column should be transparent, the dividers between the panels are brown – for some reason(?) and you may or may not get one with a wonky column. Eaglemoss are doing great work in their other collections like Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica ships so why are these consoles all so bad?

Isn,t there a 20% discount code. The delivery charge negates most of the THANKYOU code. It was easier to bulk buy with both single releases and new sets as it took you over the £50 for Free postage. A discount or limited sale price on the consoles and specials helps.

Fantastic. I’d love them to repaint this sculpt as the War Doctor’s console, as we’ve never had a release of that. Same goes for Series 7B console, though if neither happens we can always do it ourselves!

The sculpt and paintwork demonstrate what a striking Console redesign this version was and the console and console room always looked really good on television too. Very nice release. My favourite new console in the New Series might be the 11th Doctor’s first console – probably because I got to see it up close during the 50th anniversary celebrations!

    Looking forward to this.

Then just one to go for me (11th first console).

My OCD is worried that the Time Rotor is gonna be wonky on the final version as it is in the pics though.

I know what you mean… could it be the angle of the pic?

I have the 12th Doctor’s one and the rotor comes as a separate piece suspended in its own part of the packaging, so maybe that bodes well for them surviving shipment unbent…

      December 22nd, 2021 - 8:29pm

Jack. If you go on Eaglemoss store all the pics from different angles show it to be wonky.

It will probably come in packaging similar to 13th console though so will be safe during transit.

Only picture it doesn’t look wonky is top view so fingers crossed.

Column Type models are Eaglemoss achilles heel for uneven gluing issues. My Star Trek II Regula 1 purchase looks like the leaning space station of Pisa.

It’s bothering me a little that wonky column.
Once you see it, you can’t really unsee it.
Hopefully the production run will be ok.
