Idris from wave 1 left and wave 2 right. Although the wave 2 figure came with 5 cubes it is still marked wave 2a on the packaging, it has a more matt finish (especially the hair ) than wave one although this doesn’t show in the image.

I say apparently, since out of the huge delivery of DW toys my comic store got, they only had 1 Nephew. 😯 So finding one might be a bit of a challenge (If it came out. Anyone found one yet?)
They only had 2 Amelias too. Wave 1a still seems to be in short supply for now.

August 6th, 2011 - 6:13pmArgos definetly ordered 1A first and got the first delivery of them which may be where the seperation is coming from. 1B will be everyone else getting these figures if I am correct. None of the major retaliers have any of them yet other than Argos who only have 1A.

August 6th, 2011 - 6:22pmThe releases are all over the place in Australia too (we only just ‘officially’ got the figures on ll Thursday, (they were held back to coincide with the DVD release of S6 P1).
But basically, the ABC Shops (the main carrier of these here) only got 1C. Small comic stores were able to get 1A and 1C.
No appearance of 1B here either…

Lots of of people are saying stuff about how rubbish the wave is, but I personally think CO have finally given us figures we actually want! The Astronaut ,River, Doctor Ganger, Doctor, but not Idris and Uncle because they have already been released. River Song! At Last! It looks like CO have finally listened to us cos for ages weve been saying “I really want an Astronaut figure with a removable visor, because that would be ideal for wave 2.” The only way to improve the wave would be Rory!!!

August 6th, 2011 - 5:12pmThe figures themselves are fine, but the “extras” they have thrown in are totally uneccesary. The Flesh mask was only needed with the Ganger Doctor, it coming with the rest of the figures are pretty pointless.
Besides, we jsut got a River, they seem to be coming up with every excuse under the sun for not making a Rory figure from losing prototytpes to not being popualr enough with the target market. The second one makes no sense, why do CO think he is hated by 8-12 year olds if he was popular enough to get a CB figure?

Also, CO have gone crazy releasing Idris and Uncle again when this next wave comes with more accessories, so buying it in the last wave gives you less for the price.

August 6th, 2011 - 5:18pmI’d have no problem with it if the figures were different in some way, they could at least have given Idris the gold/orange colouring from the end of The Doctor’s Wife and given Uncle one of his heads in one wave and the other in the new one so at least there is a variety to encourage people to buy them.

August 6th, 2011 - 5:22pmThe new River toy has no jacket, a slightly different coat and doesn’t have any gloves on so there is a slight difference, if they had even done some minor changes to Idris and Uncle the wave could have ben considerably better.

August 6th, 2011 - 5:36pmSeveral reasons, going by what Mr Fusion has said on doctorwhotoys.net has said on ROry CO don’t think anyone is interested in him and that if they released a toy of him children would just htink he was a “lifeguard”. Rule nubmer one when it comes to Doctor Who is to never treat children like idiots and if parts of CO have been telling saying that about ROry to it’s employees it doesn’t look good.

Alternatively type in “Doctor Who figures Astronaut” and you will find the Astronaut, then click on the selelr’s name and it will show you all six figures.

In the Calssics range, what about Brigadier? Or Jo Grant or Sarah Jane? Nice to see there are going to be more Flesh figures. August 6th, 2011 - 3:15pmWell by the time the classic companions range has got up and running which is now, Nicholas Courtney and Elisabeth Sladen had both passed away so figures of them are very unlikely for a couple of years and we know there are two Jo Grant figures coming out at some point (although as per usual, CO are not announcing anything yet).

August 6th, 2011 - 3:01pmNo, it’s the Doctor with the mid-way face where it’s the right shape but all “veiny”. It comes with a mask so you can make it look like the early stage one though (as does the normal Doctor figure).

(ie) On such and such a date Wave 1 will be released in all shops
Or even better – A two-week advertising period with a list of figures before release then a date announcement?

Not some bloke in China selling off floor sweepings or some dodgy geezer on ebay selling stuff before it’s time!

With many of these waves the figures are on the shelves before they are willign to admit they exist so they really should be working on the organisation between departments.
