All the figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered.

The specially formulated resin and high quality sculpting allow the figurines to reproduce an incredible level of detail right down to the mesh in the Silurian Warrior’s uniform and the controls on Davros’s console.

Each figurine recreates a specific moment from the TV series in loving detail and every sculpt is based on detailed study of the original production photography, props and drawings.

The collection features several different versions of the Daleks and Cybermen allowing you to trace their evolution over the years.

This is the definitive Doctor Who figurine collection.

I was not originally going to buy this, but since I sadly never got the 5inch figure of the War Doctor, especially now cos Character Option no longer produce the figure, then I felt I might as well buy it as WH Smith in Barking only had 1 issue of this on sale, even thou I was just going to buy the latest issue of ‘Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection’, but I thought I’d treat myself to 2 magazines instead of 1 🙂

Nice figurine but…Why couldn’t we get Hartnell or McGann or one of the other doctors before The War Doctor? I mean he’s technically a one-off Doctor

      So is McGann.

Actually if one goes by story appearances alone then the Eighth Doctor is the most documented due to all the big finish series, Anything but a one-off!

What I don’t understand about the 50th anniversary episode is why didn’t they use Paul McGann? For many years, fans have speculated how the 8th Doctor would have regenerated and I think it would have been a nice treat if they revealed it in Day of the Doctor instead of a seven minute minisode. Or how about when all of the Doctor’s incarnations come to help save Gallifrey, why did they use old footage of McGann instead of shooting a new scene of him. It just seems kind of wasteful when the actor returned for a seven minute role.

Moffat said it wasn’t in character for the Eighth Doctor to have done it so he created a character for who it would be in character for, the War Doctor.

It’s kind of offensive to my fan sensibilities that a Doctor who featured in one episode (plus a cameo) has been released as a figure before the first, second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth Doctors. I know that this is not a problem that will worry many others, but I just think it’s a bit disrespectful.

As I said above, one episode and a cameo is the same for Paul McGann.

All the Doctors are going to come out, releasing a more obscure one early on means the more desireable ones are later on in the collection so people are more compelled to continue collecting it until their favourite Doctor comes out.

I know McGann has only been in one episode of TV Doctor Who, but if you look at the amount of other stuff he has done for the show, you’ll find a huge list of conventions and an even bigger list of Big Finish audios. In the wider whoniverse (if that’s what it’s called) the eighth Doctor, and McGann with him, is so much more than a one off.

Indeed, but that could be argued about any of the other Doctors. John Hurt’s Doctor only first popped up a year ago, and has now begun getting all the tie in stuff that the other Doctors have.

As I said, to release all the popular Doctors first is frankly one of the stupidest things they could do (and unfortunately is exactly what they did) because people want their Doctor. That’s why they are all stretched out over the whole collection and not just jammed into the start as some people seem to want, to keep people buying throughout.

All the actors in the serie have been important. Whereas their lenght on the role. I don’t know why it’s so important the order they come.

    • booboo

      July 15th, 2014 - 12:21pm

      that is so so true

but individuals will always want who they consider ” more important” first

Releasing all the Doctors 1st would i’m sure made the whole collection long term non-viable

they need to be spread out over the entire collection to keep people subscribing

I think that this one is the most human-like figurine so far- much better than Matt Smith, David Tennant, Timothy Dalton and Tom Baker.

Mine had a large crack running down one side from the arm to his hair. It’s the first time something like this has happened. Mine have normally been perfect, but I have phoned and should hopefully get a decent one in a fortnight. Apart from that it is a nice sculpt and so is the SWD.

I was wondering is this suppose to have little white marks on the hair, I know JH had grey hair and it needs to look textured but my figure looks like it has dandruff, just wondered if others have the same?

Not received any since issue 21 because Eaglemoss didn’t bother to send the last 2 issues out. Apparently two DWFC boxes came today but I’m in Spain so I need to wait for Thursday until I can get them.

I went Blackpool today with my nephew and took him to the Sea Life Centre and inside was a sign that says “You are more likely to win the lottery then getting killed by a shark.”

I wonder if I’ll win the lottery before I can get my issue 21?
