Dr Who Figurine Collection 1:4.5 scale K9 Mark I

Available to order from www.masterreplicas.com

A Time Lord’s best friend

The Doctor’s robotic dog K-9 is easily one of the series’ most popular companions. Eaglemoss developed but never released a 1:4.5 scale version of K-9.

The figurine, which stands 16.5 cm tall, shows the Mark I version of K-9, which made its debut in ‘The Invisible Enemy’ and proved so popular that he ended up travelling with Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor for the next four years. He was nearly given his own spin off with Sarah-Jane. He even returned in 2006 to help the Tenth Doctor fight the Krillitane.

Is this a pre-order? I can’t get on the MR site to see if it’s in stock and what the price is.

Still want a fullsize K-9 like I mentioned in my comment awaiting moderation, lol.

I really want a lifesize K-9,with a Follow Me function like my interactive R2-D2 and BB-8. And of course my big Dalek. Actually just assuming my Dalek has that function. Love it when his eye looks up at me and says, yes, when I say Dalek, lol.

I know there’s a company who does lifesize replicas of Who stuff,K-9,Daleks,the Tardis, etc, but I don’t know if they’re still in business. I have emailed them several times, still waiting for a reply. I wish CO did a rc fullsize K-9 way back at the height of Who toys.

TPE are still going as far as I know. How much do they want for a K9 now? It used to be just over half the Dalek price. And see if they fixed the scale of the head – their original K9 had a whoopsie and the head ended up 10% out (10% too small, IIRC, and they hoped to fix it at some point).

PS. If you meant the Aussie company, Iconic Studio Creations, they deregistered from the Australian version of Companies House in March 2020. So although their K9 was available with RC, they’re long gone.

I don’t know how much they want for K-9 as they aren’t emailing me back. How much is it for a Dalek? So I can kinda guess how much K-9 would be,lol. Some nice pics of him on their site. Hopefully it shows if they fixed him or not.

Daleks are just under 4k now, so K9 would probably be about 2.2k I would think. I’ve spotted a teeny notice on their website that they’re behind on emails due to a staff member being unwell, so that’s probably why you’ve not heard anything – I think the staff is quite small, and most of them are makers rather than admin. Their new K9 does look rather good, although they’re not offering remote control like the Aussies did, just a remote control soundchip. (Someone clever could presumably modify it if you had enough cash.)

Thanks for that Rex. Hopefully I’ll hear from them eventually.

I do like the MR K-9 as well, even though it’s a little small.

When I looked into the This Planet Earth full size K9 last April 2023 it was £1995.

      If you wanted extras:
Illuminated eye panel and flashing back panel £190

Voice (10 different phrases) with remote control £585 (voice pack cannot be fitted at a future date after purchase and once built)

      Approx £2770

      50% deposit up front

      Build time around 6-8 weeks

N/B Costs may have increased over the past year so price was correct as of April 2023

Does anyone know if this unreleased figure was known about before Eaglemoss ceased trading? Never seen any mention of it before.
Seems strange that Eaglemoss would want to release 2 Mega figures of the same character in different sizes. The collar and dog tag seem wrong or not completed/decorated properly so wandering if this is a prototype that did not proceed into full production even before Eaglemoss ceased and the prototype samples have been aqiured by Master Replicas.

Anon – I consulted Neil Corry’ recent Flying onto Shelves Eaglemoss figurine book.

The last Mega figure mentioned was the Machine Gun Dalek (figurine 11)

There is no mention of a variant K9 in the Lost in Time – what didn’t make it in section 9.

It appears the next Mega figure was going to be 11th Doc with Sonic.

Under the original Mega K9 from 2018 it mentions a ticker tape early concept model which was lost in the production process but I can no mention of a size/collar variant.

Its a bit confusing as its listed at 16.5 cm high but the original mega is more like 21cm inc ears but i suppose its where the measure to but assume its smaller

Could do with a contact at MR to clear things up

MasterReplicas recently announced that they have gotten the license to continue the figurines line. So, this is likely a completely new figurine.
