Looks like they’ve scaled up the 3.75″ Capaldi sculpt for these protos. I’d have preferred a more neutral expression tbh. Maybe CO think a ‘quirky’ expression looks less fierce than Cappers’ usual expression?
I don’t think this will be exclusive to SDCC, but it’ll probably then go to FP as the sole outlet. If so, I predict much frustration, tears and teeth – gnashing on a par with the Wave 3 dalek packs and the ‘Other Doctor’. I can pass on this, but it does improve the chances of a 5″ 12th in costume, which I would buy at a reasonable price.

  • Fred

    June 24th, 2014 - 2:45am

    I don’t understand why every one is so confused, the initial product description stated it quite plainly;

    12th Doctor
Young and “aged” 11th Doctor heads
    walking cane
    Sonic Screwdriver
    Handles accessory
presented in a TARDIS inspired gift box

So, that’s Capaldi in Smith’s costume, and them in the package you’d get both Smith heads. Unless this has since changed.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      June 24th, 2014 - 2:49am

Actually, the 12th Doctor was never mentioned, only pictured, in the initial product description. Of course – if he’s pictured, he’s included. There’s no arguing about that, so I do agree with you over the not understanding the confusion.

    • Exterminator

      June 24th, 2014 - 3:04am

Yes it’s now changed, there’s no mention now of the 12th Dr head being included at all. It’s just 11th young and aged and Handles.

    • Fred

      June 24th, 2014 - 6:23am

Yes, but was that not before the poll was added? Perhaps it’s deletion is an accidental oversight?

    • booboo

      June 24th, 2014 - 7:20am

that was a description of a combination of what the picture showed and other information supplied

i removed it because its not clear what in this set at all and it was causing to much confusion

the “official” blurb does not even mention the 12th Doctor

as i said before the people who could clear this up aren’t talking

    • Fred

      June 24th, 2014 - 8:02pm

Ah, I understand now. How very confusing.

  • Ian

    June 23rd, 2014 - 11:03pm

If you look at the Capaldi figure, look on the left hand side of his waistcoat it seems creased where as the Smith one doesn’t. I think if could be like the Professor Bracewll figure that had a swappable shirt.

  • Chris

    June 23rd, 2014 - 8:55pm

I think that the set should comes with two different bodies – series 7B outfit and ‘The Snowmen’ & ‘Time of the Doctor’ Christmas outfit. The aged 11th Doctor head wouldn’t be screen accurate with the series 7B outfit. Plus it’d be nice to have another variation on the 11th Doctor, seeing as you could use the young head.

I know a lot of people are gonna hate me for this but I would have been happy with just the 11th doctor as the paint could get damaged on the neck from swapping the head. Also I would have also preferred maybe just two figures the aged 11th doctor in accurate costume and the 11th doctor from TDOTD the capaldi figure doesn’t bother me that much and if I’m being honest would have preferred just the two

    • The Other

I’m confident about a crash set-style set (in 5″) with Capaldi as pictured here and full costumed Capaldi being on the cards

    • Dominic Kane

      June 23rd, 2014 - 10:43pm

they should do Peter Capaldi in his outfit and Clara in her outfit from TTOTD or one of her new outfits from series 8 or one from series 7

  • 100000BC

    June 23rd, 2014 - 5:01pm

To be honest I’m not too bothered whether there’s a Capaldi head or not… It looks like they’re carrying on the 5″ new series range with new Doctor figures every now and again to please the fans… Expect a 5″ Capaldi in all his glory within the next year.

They obviously also do Daleks like the Asylum set and if the metallic paradigm are in any more episodes then we may expect “clean” versions of all of the ones which are featured.

Very slim chances of Zygon/New cyberman/Ice Warrior or others.

    • 100000BC

      June 23rd, 2014 - 5:08pm

Possibly to promote the upcoming 12th Doctor figure? i.e. you can take the head off and put it on this figure? People are saying it because the 12th Doctor head isn’t mentioned anywhere in the description.

    • Trenzalore

      June 23rd, 2014 - 5:14pm

Probably them trying to get us whovians thinking (in other words tearing each other apart 😆 ) thanks for explaining 😉

    • Anonymous

      June 23rd, 2014 - 6:22pm

That’s because the description says it is the 12th Doctor with 11th Doctor and aged 11th Doctor heads (so the 12th Doctor is the base figure, the others are the bonus heads).

    • 100000BC

      June 23rd, 2014 - 6:25pm

That’s not what it says at all: The official description at the top doesn’t mention it and the thing that did say it was based on the picture and unofficial.

Finally. So glad, maybe the two lines(5 inch and 3) can both continue running at a show current pace. Need the Capaldi final costume in 5 inch, Clara too. But so very happy that C.O. has listened to the people, at least a bit more. Everyone knows the quality is in the 5 inch scale, no question about it.

I’m just happy that it has the spotted bowtie from the 50th. Love that bowtie. I’m so excited for this. If they’re even half as good as the War Doctor, we’re in for a real treat
I’m hoping that the Handles accessory is leading to a 5″ Nightmare in Silver Cyberman but I won’t hold my breath
