The Doctor has regenerated, and he has a new Sonic screwdriver! Accompanying David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor in the 60th Anniversary specials, this sonic has a new but familiar form, just like the Doctor!
Character Options is proud to present the new Sonic screwdriver in toy form! It features light and sound FX as well as an opening and extending action – all operated from a single button on the handle.
The sonic comes beautifully presented in special anniversary packaging and is the perfect addition to any fans collection. Age: 5+

I wanted one so bad. Thought i ordered from Etsy but didnt see the fine print. Sonic does not come with stand. Aauuuuugghh!!!! $44.something for a stand and no screwdriver

£18.99 is all you should pay if you can get one.

December 7th, 2023 - 2:10pmWhy is it so hard to get hold of one of these, especially at the 18-19 pound retail price as opposed the the 40-50 they seem to be going for most places. The Character and Forbidden Planet websites suggested there was stock due in early december (around the 6th) but haven’t seen anything, have been checking multiple times daily but no luck. The who shop also suggested this but they are also out of stock and even they have inflated the prices. Just so strange to me how the supposed ‘retail’ version is almost as hard to get hold of as the limited edition! It’s been harder to get than any previous sonics, and the fact it’s not readily available is so weird to me. All this money supposedly going into the new era of the show, you would think the sonic screwdriver (easily the most popular product) would have sufficient stock. booboo any ideas?

December 7th, 2023 - 2:15pmFP restocks lasted a day and have already sold out because of their price , Character have a page for it (17.99) but its never been available to order.
A lot of the stock seems to have ended up with ebay / amazon retailers who are selling at over twice RRP.

I cant understand it, you would think the fact its new sonic screwdriver alone would be incentive enough to have plenty of stock, but the fact its a 60th product and a Tennant one at that would surely leave no doubt of selling, very bizarre choice.

Character did have a page for it (£17.99) but never put it up for order

December 14th, 2023 - 1:18pmUPDATE- So in my search for a 14th sonic at its actual retail price, I searched through most online retailers. Theres a shop called ‘Worlds Apart’ they have stores in Birmingham and Liverpool that I know of, they posted on twitter saying they had 14th sonics in stock and to contact them for an order, so I messaged them asking the price and was told they were selling them at £29.99 each, better than eBay/amazon I know, but still an absolutely stupid price. I then had product adverts coming up also on instagram for the 14th sonic at Sci-fi Collector, these were even worse at £39.99! but they had seemingly sold out anyway, my sympathies to anyone who payed £40 for the standard edition sonic, absolute joke! I then returned to Forbidden Planet, since I have no stores anywhere near me I checked with their individual store social media accounts, where I saw the Nottingham store had posted on theirs about 14 sonics being in stock and mail orders being available, I then contacted them to ask about pricing and to my delight they had few remaining in stock and were at 17.99 each! The staff were so nice, posted them on Monday and received my order yesterday, yes you heard it here folks! A 14th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver at its actual retail price of £17.99! Miracles do happen. But honestly, It really shouldnt be this difficult and require this much effort to get one! Hope this helps someone!

One for display (got all the sonics), one for my son to play with (yes, buying the toy for actual PLAY) and one to keep mint in box. However, is it just me, or with the limited release of Doctor Who toys, its just getting harder and harder to get hold of things?
I had to order a TARDIS on ebay for the inflated price (I have a complete Character Options TARDIS collection), and I was looking for the 5 doctors/white daleks sets in a B&M, but nothing.
