Anneke Wills reads an exciting novelisation of a classic TV adventure for the Second Doctor.

When the TARDIS lands on a deserted volcanic island, the Doctor and his companions find themselves kidnapped by primitive sea-people.

Taken into the bowels of the Earth, they discover they are in the lost kingdom of Atlantis. Offered as sacrifices to the fish-goddess, Amdo, the Doctor and his companions are rescued from the jaws of death by the famous scientist, Zaroff.

But they are still not safe, and nor are the people of Atlantis. For Zaroff has a plan that will make him the greatest scientist of all time. He will raise Atlantis above the waves – even if it means destroying the world….

Anneke Wills, who played Polly in the TV series, reads Nigel Robinson’s novelisation of the 1967 TV serial by Geoffrey Orme.

It still astonishes me , just how good these Target Book covers with the CD size.

I know it’s been tidied up. But it looks stunning. Great Book, by Nigel Robinson, who zi always thought was underrated as a novelist. His Edge of Destruction, is a master piece.

I love that Aneeke is reading this, she did the Audio Soundtrack on both the CD and the Vinyl from last year.

Not simply “tidied up”, Bryan. Apart from the front and top Fishpeople, it’s an entirely new painting.

Yes . My bad. I should have said Amended. But it was a passing comment on how good it looks . I admit that I noticed the Right underwater “rocks“ to be a statue and not a random undersea environment.

It looks stunning. Even more~so after Link creative produced a beautiful cover a bit more than a year ago for the LP soundtrack version. This looks amazing and would look so good on a vinyl size version .when we start to get Target Vinyl editions πŸ™‚

I want ‘The Underwater Menace’ re-released on DVD and Blu-ray animated. It’s a story that would work perfectly as a cartoon.

I’m sure it will happen eventually. It’s the most obvious choice for the next special edition

Ooh, this should be good! The Underwater Menace is a fun story sadly let down at times by its production values, so this reading might help with that

It’s a good book of a story I’ve always enjoyed. The visuals do let it down a bit and the book certainly helps with that.
