When the TARDIS materialises on an apparently deserted Nothumbrian beach, Steven disputes the Doctor’s claim that they have travelled back to the eleventh century. The disovery of a modern wristwatch in a nearby forest merely reinforces his opinion.

Observing the appearance of the TARDIS is a mysterious monk, who recognises the time-machine for what it is.       May is The King’s Demons, read by Mark Strickson.
      June is Doctor Who and the Claws of Axos, read by Richard Franklin.
      July is Doctor Who and the Sontaran Experiment, read by John Culshaw.
      August is The Macra Terror, read by Anneke Wills.
      September is Doctor Who and the Invasion of Time, read by John Leeson
      October is The Time Meddler, (reader unknown, though probably Peter Purves or Maureen O’Brien).
      Beyond October is unknown at this point.
