Shame they didn’t redesign Matt’s series boxses. The others look great. Won’t be getting though, as I don’t own a bluRay device.

Where are the Confidentails? On BluRay they should have been easy to fit on. Is there a problem with getting the full length editions out on either DVD or BluRay.

I’ve got Series 6 on Blu-ray already (the limited edition Silence one) and have an order placed for the BBC Shop-exclusive Series 7 box-set, so I’m not sure I’ll get this. I’m so happy it’s being released (as long as there’s a noticeable increase in picture quality). I’ll certainly buy Series 1-4 on Blu-ray if they’re released separately.

So £169.99 at the BBC Shop that works out at £5.86 a disc, sounds alot but considering this is a 29 disc set it ain’t that bad.

It’s not really necessary on DVD as these series are all available in that format already. The reason we have this release is because they’ve upscaled series 1-4 to HD. If they hadn’t managed to get them in a BR release then we wouldn’t have this set.

    • Still not GINGER

      September 5th, 2013 - 5:19pm

I hope it comes out on DVD, because this would be a perfect gift for someone I know, but they don’t have a Blu-Ray player.

I have emailed bbc shop about a DVD release of the series 1-7 box set. They replied.

      Dear UnitedGamers2013,

      Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately the Doctor Who series 1-7 box set is not currently available on DVD through BBC Shop and we are unaware of any plans to release this title in the near future.

BBC Shop is committed to giving customers access to the complete range of products published by BBC Worldwide and in order to view the complete range please go to bbcshop.com

No need for a DVD release. If this is anything like the USA box set it’s just a cardboard box containing the separate single boxed releases. You can already buy all these series in single format on DVD.

  • Moodbeam

    September 5th, 2013 - 12:19pm

The price for this is ridiculous and it doesn’t even include the sonic remote packaged in the American set! I think I’ll be waiting until series 1-4 are released individually or as a set apart from series 5 onwards before I spend any money on blu-ray versions of those series. I already have series 5+ on BR so there’s no way I’m paying out for them again. Still, it’s a nice set for those who haven’t yet invested in the series on DVD.

Should do, the press release says:

“Throw in the new Doctor Who: The Complete Seventh Series Blu-ray set along with hours and hours of bonus features from the past collections”

Though I was hoping for some deleted scenes from series 1 & 6 🙁
