September 16th, 2025 - 7:51amThis is funny, I live in the US and the set they have pictured (and the list of episodes) are already out. I have it sitting on my shelf right now. I bought it this past January (yes, it’s a US release, not a UK release) now if it’s one of the 2 that has not been released, then I’ll be waiting with bated breath.
Gordon
September 16th, 2025 - 9:50amIn the US there is only 1 release. In the UK there is 2 releases. The deluxe packaging release which is packaged in an oversized box is the first. The second is in normal sized packaging which comes a couple of years later.
Snowman
September 16th, 2025 - 1:06pmYes Gordon, I could be wrong but when the limited Edition First comes out in the UK, I think the Rest of the World, US, Austrailia, Europe Etc get This Standard Edition then?
Gordon
September 16th, 2025 - 1:35pmThe order of the releases are as follows:
Uk limited edition packaging release with bigger booklet
US release in normal packaging with no booklet about 3ish months later
Australian release though how and gap it is released constantly seems to change. Sometimes it’s months sometimes it’s over a year. I’ve never really understood their release process being honest
Uk standard packaging with slimmed down booklet about 20-24 months after (times seem to vary

September 15th, 2025 - 9:13pmA two year gap from Limited meant it was supposed to be released around next March. Curious. Wonder if the gap’s getting shorter because the Limiteds don’t sell out as fast as they used to?
Amypondfan
September 15th, 2025 - 9:38pmThere is no release date so it could still be March next year
Bellal
September 16th, 2025 - 12:43amPatiently waiting for s25. Really interested to see all the new versions on it. Great news is the 2 year gap is even marginally shortened
Tom Williams
September 16th, 2025 - 2:55pmOr is it maybe cause off animations again next year ? Maybe they want too realise them bit more sooner as next year could be a point off more animations coming out again ie blu ray and steel books which could clash with these more it might be even the case of shorten these down especially we might not have a new season limited edition out straight away at start off the new year due too the spin off on top ?
Gordon
September 16th, 2025 - 11:33pmBeing honest I’m not sure the next animation is that soon away. They said back in march at the savages bfi screening they weren’t going to start the next one after the savages until a new deal was in place and it would be about 12 months after that. Depending on when they signed that contract they may only be a short while in. As with a lot of things involving money it may take a while till the figures are right. Could be wrong on this of course but my gut is thinking more closer to summer time if not later.
Prof Horner
September 17th, 2025 - 3:44pmWell I still think they could use Tardis time girl animation on season 5. They could get it out next year. Not only we would have another sixties season but more importantly a much needed Troughton season. Giving more time to work other animations for the other sixties seasons. Otherwise I fear we are going to have to wait a while for sixties seasons releases. Of course one way to speed things up would be to have shorter time between stand alone releases and in inclusion on season boxsets.
Gordon
September 17th, 2025 - 4:34pmI don’t think they are using that. I suspect they already have their own plans eventually to give the full works within the next 3-4 releases .
Think it is fine for a freebie but the second it becomes a paid release people tend to look more closely and critically at it. It would need additional time and money allocated towards it in my personal opinion.
Plus you have the other issue. It’s freely and readily available. If it’s on YouTube/Patreon it simply wouldn’t be a draw for the box set
Bookcollector
September 17th, 2025 - 5:39pmThe time girl wheel is good but it’s not commercially viable. As a free item it’s fine but as a paid for release it would need a lot of work on the likenessess. Several of the supporting cast bear very little resemblance to the actors involved. It’s great and I enjoyed it but it’s not commercial release quality.
Sofia Fox
September 29th, 2025 - 2:22amBesides, TardisTimeGirl already offered the animation to the BBC if they were willing to fund a commercially-viable version, but was denied on the basis of the reception to the Web of Fear Special Edition and The Celestial Toymaker, telling them that the fans do not want 3D animated stories. When really all it needs to fine tuning. I heard good improvements on Toymaker over Web, but if the profits of Web and Toymaker were lower compared to the rest I can guess I can understand that.
Gordon
September 29th, 2025 - 4:57amThere is nothing to suggest it did sell poorer. Both titles pretty much topped the chart in the week of release and lasted roughly similar length of time to other 2d animations.

September 15th, 2025 - 6:50pmThis is early but welcome all the same.
I can sell the collection boxset now.
Fred
September 15th, 2025 - 1:09pmI think the link might be the wrong one. It’s sending me to season 20.
Andy
September 15th, 2025 - 2:34pmYou just need to search for it in their search box then just scroll down and it’s there to pre-order for £32.99.
Fred
September 15th, 2025 - 1:08pmIt is a bit irritating having to wait 2 years to get one of these, but I think it’s worth being patient. The limited edition ones are more expensive, by all accounts falls apart easier, and don’t actually have anything more worthwhile as far as I’m aware.
Season 15 is one of the most wildly varied in terms of quality I can think of. Two outstanding stories, one middling, and three absolute howlers. Really looking forward to them finally doing season 16 (and of course 2 years later, when I’ll get one), where I hope the special effects team will boost The Power of Kroll so that it will reveal itself as the perfectly fine story it is. Well, minus the Swampies.
Gordon
September 16th, 2025 - 9:59amNone of mine have fallen apart. The only one I’ve had issue with is s9 and that’s the one I got signed by katy.
Rory, the original you might say
September 16th, 2025 - 10:51am@Gordon, mine neither, but I am very careful in how I handle them, especially as half of mine are signed.
James
September 16th, 2025 - 10:57amMine are all still nicely factory sealed. Sitting shiny on the shelf.

September 16th, 2025 - 12:42pmNever saw the point in wasting money on items you are not going to watch. Especially these days when money is tight. Much rather buy something else than have an expensive shelf filler.
PJ
September 15th, 2025 - 12:34pmStill no Season 13 Release Date…… 🙁
Gordon
September 15th, 2025 - 12:55pmI’m sure it will get revealed when it’s ready.
David
September 15th, 2025 - 1:53pmThe BBC likes to keep us waiting.
comicshopsdontstand
September 15th, 2025 - 2:59pm@pj indeed
As some ‘collectors’ of these are not getting any younger. IF they dont keep releasing them more often, BBC Studios will see a sudden drop in sales when the collectors are no longer around.
