Regarding the AI I see that The Android Invasion has been heavily criticised. One criticism is that Sarah Janes face disappears at one point. The version shown on iPlayer has the same disappearing face, it’s just that when sharpened up for bluray it’s going to be more noticeable and it is. It seems to me the quality of the location film is pretty poor in that story and they’ve done their best with it. Missing faces would be far too difficult and costly to correct. Where it is possible to improve things with AI they have done it. Mainly with the shots of the village and various buildings. Personally I wouldn’t want to see the AI tool taken off them.

Sarah Jane’s face disappears and is replaced by someone else’s on the Blu.

This is all going to come down to how many sales they lose, and I suspect that most people fall into the like it/don’t care/can’t see it categories (unfortunately, from my POV). So just a very minor dialling back in future.

I only saw the disappearing face in the quarry scenes in episode 1. Where is the face replacement scene?

Check the Youtube compilation Gordon posted a link to – I think it’s in that one, failing that it’s amongst the pictures on the Blu-Ray forum.
